Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello everyone. Well it's been a while since I've posted any stories, but I still read them and write. I would love to help people improve their writing skills. I am very picky when it comes to reading stories. I find maybe one in every hundred stories that I like. Mostly what I would be focusing on as a beta reader would of course be grammar and punctuation but also descriptions. We all know descriptions are important, but it is just as important not to go overboard with them. Too many adjectives can kill the mood of a story. But I promise to always be nice and friendly. So let me know if you're interested. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm good at making something funny with one liners while I'm writing. And as a reader I can pick out positive and unique things to say about anyone's writing, but I can also give constructive criticism if it's needed. I try to review all stories I read and I always give a multiple sentence review. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
While I can recognize good descriptions when I read them, I'm not so good at writing them. Which is why my stories will pretty much stay one-shot humor stories. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
There are probably a million Harry Potter beta readers, but that's what I would want to do. I just prefer the Harry Potter fanfictions to any other. The writers are very good and there are so many characters to read and write stories on. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Nothing Twilight. I despise Twilight. And I'd prefer to stick with stuff I know. |
