For me, fanfiction is for fun, definatly. However, I feel that published fanfiction needs to be putting ones best foot foward. In other words, not putting out something that is obviously a rough draft. I personally feel that that is not only part of the fun of writing, but also, one gets more out of it if they know they have done a good job. My goal as a beta reader is to help you feel you have done the best you can do and that you also feel proud of yourself. I don't know how you would go about asking people to Beta for you, so I've decided to set up a thread in my main forum.

1. Character development - Who the character is and what makes them believable or not believable, major Mary Sue/Gary Stu traits, how out of character or OoC something is.
2. Plot development - I can point out most flaws in what makes a story believable or not believable, what makes it flow and what doesn't.
3. Typing - With this I mean the body and how it looks and how well a reader will be able to read the work.
4. Brainstorming ideas - Sometimes people have writers block, sometimes I can help, but not always.
5. Poetry
6. Canon - I know how to look for mistakes in canon and I know how to work and not to work around it for AU's and canon.

1. Spelling and some grammer - I can beta for it, but I am not the best canidate for this.
2. If I see something that can or needs to be improved, I will not hesitate to point it out. But, when I do this, I will try to be as kind as possible. Also, some of my advice given is more along the lines of optional, in other words just suggestions.
3. I will tell you if something isn't unique.

This one is hard. I like all kinds of fanfiction, whether it is canon based or AU. I like all the generas, but I think it would be best to tell what isn't my cup of tea. I love crossovers, I prefer them though with things that I know. Also, I like parodies and AU's. I also like people to have an idea of where they want to go.

NOTE: I will read crossovers between any of the catagories.

Ironically, I've left this in reviews for stories that I wasn't fond of but did like how the author was going.

1. Slash is out because this is my personaly preferance. Please respect it.
2. Hard core horror, though soft core horror is my style.
3. Sappy romances that are very mushy, though I will read romance.
4. Fics that blatantly disresepct the fandom or the readers by bashing the fandom.
5. Mary Sue bashing fics that are distasteful and hurtful, in fact any fic that's soul purpose is to hurt an indtended audience.
6. Anything that is so hardcore it is gross... I think you can figure that out.
7. Toilet humor - It isn't the same as the above, I just don't get it.

I also would prefer not to read crossovers that I know nothing about any of the fandoms for.
