Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've only recently discovered this Beta Reader application on my profile. But so far I am working for several sources and have helped my classmates on many occasions. I'm a perfectionist, so you can rely on me to do my very best or not do it at all.
If you would like a piece beta-read by me, you can expect a reply within two-three days. I will also try my hardest to not alter any intended effects of the works, but offer my insight on everything that strikes me as a little off. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I excell at grammar. For proof, I suggest you read some of Chapter 22 of my story, Twin Heroes. I obsessively scan my own chapters before I post them, to make sure that all of the spellings and punctuations are correct, and that the words flow smoothly.
I currently have a 98 in my Pre-AP English class and one of my works was published in my school's Literary Magazine.
Also, I can act as a thesaraus and add a bit of colorful vocab to your chapters.
And, I pay close attention to facts and plot events. If there is a historical reference, I will check it out, and if the plot doesn't flow, I will tell you. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I may not be able to point out character flaws farther than, "That character wouldn't do that!" My suggestions on that side will be fairly limited. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'd like to read about shows and novels that I am familiar with. This would include Danny Phantom, Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Twilight, Invader Zim, and Harry Potter. There are others, I'm sure, but I would like to see the most from this area. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I will not read stories with excessive yaoi in it, or excessive cussing. That means, "I'm not going to do that ****ing homework that that ****ing ***** gave me! What the **** is that ***** thinking?!" That is an exaggeration, but it gets the point across. |
