Hullo, I'm Angel of Music Lover (though for the sake of time you could just call me either Angel or Music Lover. Whatever.) I'm really a first time beta-reader, so I don't quite have a "style" or anything yet. I edit stuff if that answers that question.



As for expectations, I just expect that if you send me something to beta then you are able to handle it if I correct something or have some advice pretaining to the story. Don't expect to give me something and have me think it's perfect every time (although sometimes is okay ;D). Also, please don't expect me to be perfect at this. I occasionally miss things too and am just a learner like y'all.



That's really it. I promise to try and do my best at being honest (but not harsh or mean) and thorough with my beta work. I look forward to helping anyone who needs it with their stories.

I'm very good with spelling as well as most common grammar mistakes. I also know the difference between things like "their, there, and they're" as well as "its and it's" and I have decent punctuation knowledge.

I usually make comma mistakes myself and might not catch all of those. This also pretains to semicolons and the like. Ick. I truly dislike all of the rules that follow these around.

Preferably I would like to beta something that I know about, so before asking me to beta you might want to look at my profile and see what I've written for or what my favorite movies/etc. are. To be more specific for this case though, I prefer fics about musicals that you might find in the Musicals/Plays section (although there are others).

The first thing I can think of is a story about anime. I know absolutely nothing about that particular genre and couldn't pretend to if I tried. This would mean that I would only be able to assist in the way of checking spelling and grammar, nothing to do with story or character development so I'd really rather not beta these types of stories. But like I said, I'll still do it.



Another point would be an OC (Original Character) or an AU (Author's Universe) story. I don't entirely mind these but it's way too easy for me to rip them apart so please make sure that you are at least well researched in the topic or that the characters/original plotpoints are realistic for the section you are taking on or at least isn't completely ridiculous. I really would hate to tell you that your Original Character is really just a Mary-Sue. :(
