According to Cecil Vyse, the ideal wife would be a mindless work of art, a Leonardo, to be supervised and influenced. However, Mr. Vyse fails to see the ironic truth that a blissful marriage with him would require a wife who abhorred all of these ideals.

A cracky little tale in which Cecil Vyse seems to be making some scandalous insinuations and Freddy Honeychurch impulsively reacts. Mild slash, which is in no way to be taken seriously.
