Is the bad guy in Beowulf really the bad guy? You will find out in this story. - WARNING! Character death and gore.

For a Creative English Assignment I was to write a modernized version of Beowulf. I thought it would be interesting to post it here and see what you guys thought. She said we had a lot of creative freedom so although I wanted to make it all parallel to the story at first, I knew it just wasn't possible if I wanted to use my time wisely. Please critique!

Based off the poem, not any of the horrible movies. This story tells the tale of how the brave Wiglaf became king after Beowulf.

In this parody Beowulf becomes president but will Nick Cage and a young girl named Emily be able to stop his evil plans? (First real try at writing, I know it's bad)

"The water of the lake is black as night, and waves erupt from its surface, spraying poisoned water into the air. The roots of skeletal trees hang over the edge of the lake, clutching at the bank desperately. The air is thick with poisoned mist. It is not a nice place." - had to write this for a school assignment. I wrote it to be read aloud to kids age 4 to 8.

After the conclusion of Beowulf, many people wonder what exactly becomes of the Geats, Wiglaf in particular. - A short story I wrote for an English project. Hopefully, in time, I will develop this into the grand tale it has the potential to be.

The anguish Grendal's mother feels when the "hero" slaughters her son.

Unferth's now rather ancient only son tells a lost story of the Geats' great king Beowulf to a scribe and a barman. The story of his mother's death, his father's honor, and the triumph of a great king. Rated T for violence. Because it's Beowulf. Any other rating would be a lie.

This fiction focuses more on the human qualities as opposed to his god-like ones, that shows that even Beowulf is a subject of human flaws.
