A short story inspired by Daughter of Smoke and Bones.

The seraphim and revenants may be working together, but Liraz will never see them as allies - especially not monsters like the White Wolf. Or will she? Could definitely be read as Liraz/Ziri, because I can easily see that happening in the next book. SPOILER ALERT for anyone who hasn't read Days of Blood and Starlight.

Each story describes one of the times they've saved each other's life.

Set at the end of 'Daughter of smoke and bone' after Karou and Akiva have broken the wishbone: Snap. That was the only sound and the wishbone was broken. Such a sound, Akiva thought, could never signify the breaking of a dream, of a love, of a life. He was wrong.

"She caught Akiva, staggering under the dead weight of him..." In that brief moment after Ziri in Thiago's body "strangles" Akiva, what goes through the mind of his sister...? T because honestly, that's what I'd rate the books. One-shot.
