When Arthur Hastings visits an old school friend in Belgium in 1913, he simply envisions a pleasant holiday. However when the British Ambassador is found dead, Hastings meets Hercule Poirot, little knowing that his life will be altered forever.

For once it's not Hastings who's falling in love, but Poirot, with the elegant Countess Rossakoff who decides not to sail to America. She comes looking for Poirot and this is the result: a deliriously happy Poirot and a less than thrilled Miss Lemon.

Hastings decides to take a break and vacations to Greece when he comes across his old friend, Poirot. Poirot is always looking for a holiday, but mysteries always seem to find him. What happens when he finally does get a break? Please see last chapter.
