This fanfiction begins with a yound, 14 year old girl named Synthia Carter. After a fist fight with the local Soc guys, she and Ponyboy hit it off with a new friendship. Synthia however, is very skeptical about this Greaser and Soc rant thing going on in Tulsa. She isn't very aware of her effect on people's lives, how her moves can change the simplest things, into confusing twists.

A girl in town helps Dallas deal with the aftermath of Johnny's death and catches the attention of Ponyboy as well. However her presence seems to only bring trouble, and suspiciously brings the arrival of a mysterious and intelligent killer in 'boring' Tulsa. Along with the imminent danger of Darrel being sent to jail, being killed is the least of their worries.

Ponyboy's first semester at college doesn't go as planned, but dropping out is only the beginning of his troubles. Originally a oneshot called "When I'm Gone"; now, a full length fic.

"Obviously, you've got your socs and your greasers. That's the main social divide. But within those two groups, you have a complete social hierarchy." Ponyboy Curtis isn't exactly looking forward to going back to school. But he's going to learn a lot this year, and most of it has nothing to do with the Three R's.
