What if R and Julie hadn't met during one of his hunting trips? What if R had been captured on one of his hunting trips and taken inside the fortified city of the Living? A different version of the R/Julie story, one where they meet in her world, not his.

Julie loves him, she'll stay with him through anything, but how can R cope with the struggles of becoming Human, the judgement of others, and learning how to be normal?

Set off the movie when Julie leaves R at the house. Julie and R remain seperated but problems arise and fate soon finds each other again. Will they have a happy ending?

R is dead again. He became part of the undead for the second time, being forced into finding his own cure once again. This time, will he have Julie to help him through it? Or will he be undead all alone?

Julie has a lot of thinking to do about R and their worlds. This is her internal battle about leaving R and being in the compound. Book Universe

Head under water, getting hard to breathe, life gets easier, as you go further along...R is trying to figure out this whole human thing, one step at a time. R/Julie. Rating due to smatterings of language and contemplation of pain/life/death/compliance to movie rating.

"R" wants to connect with others. Why can't he do that? Oh yeah, He's a zombie. He can only make out a few words and he has no memories of when he was alive. He only remembers is that his name began with an R. When he feeds on someone at an abandoned school he meets Julie. He takes her to keep her safe. He soon figures out that what he and Julie have are making other zombies human.

Coming back to life is hard. I unfurl like a new leaf-one delicate vein at a time. Today, I tied my own shoes. Tomorrow, I might fall in love.

Some lose hope and turn into boneys. Others strive to be different but are unable to become alive again. She's a girl who lost all faith but was too mentally awake to fall into the numbing depths of change. Having become a disparate being altogether, the solitary girl resides in a suffocating limbo, unsure of all but her cryptic dreams. He's an outcast. They're waging war. -Romance

In the middle of an apocalypse, it's almost impossible to relax and escape the horrors of reality. But for a little while, at least, R and Julie can pretend.

R stumbles across an unusual item on one of his hunting trips, a kaleidiscope. This is a story that explores characters from the book, before R's meeting with Julie...including a Boney soldier, in Chapter 2. R still can't remember his old life, but he doesn't really mind. He's happy with his new one. He's happy with Julie and that the world is making its way towards recovery. Dreams, he thinks, make up for the lack of memories. Then Raelyn shows up. Is she really his sister? Will she take him back into his past?
