My idea on why Carolyn Barek left and how she comes back. This is a one-shot but I may start a sequel 'cause I really enjoyed writing this. *COMPLETE*

Post 'To the Bone' Maybe he wanted someone to punch him, or maybe he just wanted her...a surprise visitor knocks on Mike's door.

Mike sees someone he never would have expected to see at a nightclub on open mike night.

After a tragic day, Mike finds that he's a single father, and he has to raise his son by himself...

A weekend in the woods goes terribly wrong for our favorite detectives...

This is it, Logan, Mike thought as they stared at each other for several long seconds. Kiss her. He swallowed, then stepped forward and took Carolyn into his arms.

She looked at him again, and his eyes met hers this time, making them both blush and look away. She felt a burning low in her belly at the sight and thought of the man sitting beside her, and she wondered…

We've been rockin' all night, but don't you know? You gotta get me to the church on Cumberland Road!

She accepted the blanket and gently laid it over her partner’s bloody and naked form, carefully tucking it around him. He had never looked so small and vulnerable as he did right then, and it tore Carolyn’s heart out of her chest.

Time for some Logan lovin'. Logan and Barek deal with Cheslea Watkins' campaign of vengeance.

Worried, he stood up and trotted into the kitchen, surprised and somewhat amused when he saw his tough as nails, hard ass partner standing on their kitchen table, her arms crossed tightly over her chest.

He doesn't respond, and that's fine with me. There will be time to tell him again. And again, I thank God that there will be.

Slowly, she returned to her seat, her hand still on his forehead. She didn't know exactly what she wanted, but right now, that didn't matter. All that mattered was the man in the bed beside her. She could figure out the rest later.

Deakins gets a big shock when he goes to check on a sick Mike Logan...
