This story takes place three years after the original Alan Wake game and one year after the spin-off called Alan Wake's American Nightmare. In this story, Alan Wake finds himself in another episode of Night Springs which he wrote earlier in his life. This time, the episode is set in a small town in Minnesota where Alan wants to find decisive clues to return to the real world.

Fresh out of his Freshman Year of high school, Andrew Blake is on vacation with his parents. When they make a stop in the beautiful town of Bright Falls, the family gets more than they bargained for. See inside for further info.

Alice knew that her husband would keep running headlong into the wall that kept him from writing until he shattered to pieces. There were cracks in him already. She was determined to help him destroy that wall and keep him from breaking. A trip away from all the chaos of the city seemed like the perfect fix.

Emmet Bright, a renowned psychologist and author famous for his techniques and theories on how to conquer and eliminate fear, has got everything going for him. At a book signing a strange event happens, which causes his life to takes a drastic turn.

Now that Alice is free from the Dark Presence, Alan is determined to save who he had to sacrifice, and maybe get himself free from the depths of the cabin under the lake.
