The continuation of the events of Final Fantasy 8, shortly after the conclusion of the game.

Unfortunately, peace is shattered when Galbadia suddenly ignites a plan that ultimately threatens the very existence of SeeD...with Rinoa as the final key. What exactly is the sorceress' role in their endeavors? And, what is their mysterious, new experiment?
