Ugh...this is an evil, ominous story, with no real value, that should've been destroyed...but wasn't.

The words spoken to him were from none other than Amerada, her grip tightening on his shaking hands. "In a gentle way, you can shake the world, Asbel." That's right. He wasn't alone. He never was.

There were so many opportunities when more could have been said. Words waited to be spoken, truthfulness that was as resolute as it was tender, yet still so difficult to convey.

His gaze shifts and settles on his hand as it moves to brush the hair from her face, but his movements stop as he realises it's stained crimson. The warm, sticky liquid coats it like a second skin, and a quick, unconscious flick of his finger causes a drop to fall. It's all it takes for the final threads of his resolve to shatter. Pascal's snoring kept Hubert up that night in Velanik. That's why he was there to notice Asbel sneak out, and wonder where he'd gone. When he finds Asbel, his brother has been out for hours in the cold, trying to coax his eleth mixer into pouring out food for the impoverished town. Asbel doesn't understand why Hubert is furious. Arguments happen, even as Hubert tries to warm him up
