AU. It's 1974 and Douglas Richardson is an up-and-coming pilot in an up-and-coming air charter firm. The last thing he needs is a female captain trying to boss him about just so Carolyn can make a point. The last thing Captain Martha Crieff needs, meanwhile, is Douglas Richardson. What he wants is a drink, and what she wants is a cigarette.

It's 1939 and Verity Richardson has been evacuated to Wokingham. Martin tells her not to be afraid of the dragons. Jumping forward to 1955 Martin has a new pilot's job in Fitton. But because he's suffering with signs of PTSD Martin's not sure if he'll be able to keep the job for long. Espcially as Arthur wants a pet dragon and Martin's no longer keen on them. Grateful for feedback.

Carolyn's booked a trip and Martin can't do it. As usual, it's up to Douglas to sort everything out- cope with the Fitton Pony Club and Arthur's strange power over them, stop Carolyn going hobbit-hunting, and save Martin and Teresa's relationship. Contains spoilers for series 4 Vaduz.
