Up in the mountains there is an mysterious herd of wild horses, but they're leader, the Red Stallion, is said to be a legend, no more than an illusion. Is this true? Or does the mysterious stallion actually exist?

Kaia's previous horse, Buckshot, was killed in a tragic accident when a storm came suddenly while the horse and owner were out riding in the mountains of Wyoming. Kaia's father, Clint, is determained to get Kaia up and back loving and riding horses again. Can Flicka's granddaughter, an unnamed black filly, help him with that goal, or will Kaia keep away from the horses forever?

Katy needs to tell her dad something...And she's not really sure if he's going to like it.

Katy and Flicka have both recovered after the mountain lion accident and are ready to ride again. But Katy's problems are far from over...
