On April 29th, asks to get dropped off early at Andre's house during the ride back from the prom. One more night of indulging in his classmates' meaningless, trivial past-times was enough. Zero Day is close; there are more important things for Cal to pay attention to now.

During prom, Andre sits at work and worries. He thinks about Rachel and Calvin's relationship; he thinks about how risky this whole thing was. He hopes his friend will come back unchanged.

I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad that the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had. The penultimate moment, from Andre's point of view alone.
