One of, if not THE, best fanfics I have ever read. Splendid and original. You captured each character beautifully.

I know I've told you this before, but I simply ADORE this story. Not only am I immensely flattered that you based your Snape on my RP incarnation of him, but I'm also impressed at what you did with him, which is much more than I could have done, given similar circumstances. Since I beta'd this, though, I know you're not gonna believe me, so to combat that, I have the following:

How do I love this story? Let me count the ways...

1) Your evocative use of language and imagery are palpably delicious.
2) All the characterizations -- as usual with anything you write -- are spot on.
3) The structure of the flashbacks, which I normally ABHOR in stories, doesn't seem the least bit forced and flows beautifully, in fact.
4) The tone is very depressing, as one would expect Snape's life story to be, of course, but it's still so very HP.

Overall, this is the single best story I've ever read in this fandom. And I know you STILL won't believe me, but ... at least you have another review now. ;-)

that's great! you have a real talent for getting inside the heads of the most unlikely people. i have never been able to imagine what may have motivated snape, but now i can begin to see. :)
