He tried to find the little kids in the forest, he told Caranthir off for being a a-hole to their cousins, and what exactly did you expect him to do about the ship burning. Did you want him to pick up a sword and murder his father and brothers and all the other people with them so he could go back and get the Fingolfin and company? and if by the occurence of some insane miracle he did manage to fight off everyone single handedly, how was he supposed to sail all the ships back by himself?

I'm not saying he's a saint, he definately isn't, but it would make more sense to hate on Celegorm of Curufin, rather than one of the few sons of feanor that ever actually tried to do something good

but whatever :P

LOL...:-) Now - I admit I am designedly benevolent when it comes to Fëanor and all of his sons. I love desperate guys with an agenda, especially those that are torn and disrupted in such a delightfully byronic manner...:-) Frankly, I never quite understood why it didn't occur to anyone (except for Melian - what a wise woman) that the best idea would be to send Fëanorians I nicely wrapped package with the sparkly shiny thingie inside. Since they got very little sympathy from Tolkien, it is only understandable that they receive it from his admiring yet more open-minded readers... Hah--
(Though it always hurts to see the eldest two depicted as saints, I pretty much hate that - takes away much of their charm...)

Well, maybe a little on that last one, but that was more over the whole arrogant I'm-the-ruler-of-this-whole-place-and-you've-got-to-listen-to-me thing and the no-understanding-Quenya thing and the go-fetch-me-a-Silmaril-before-I-let-you-court-my-daughter thing and multiple other things. And maybe I criticized Elwing for leaving her kids behind-- my reasoning is that if she feared the Feanorians more than death, she shouldn't have left her children to them. But... well.)

Hehe. My friend likes the song American Pie. I'm going to send this story to her and get her to review it. But I don't think she knows who Maedhros is. *frown* But that's okay. This song is fun to sing to.
I don't know why people think Maedhros is so sexy. I always thought of him as a bit... off. In a good way, of course.
And yes, I do believe that slash can save the immortal soul. Apparently all those Maedhros slash writers agree with me. Usually I don't like fics with songs, or songs with changed lyrics to suit a certain book, but yours was very funny.
