All characters (yours own and from Mulan movie) seems so realistic like they was real human, lived many centuries ago, and and all thing happend to them was true. Shan Yu, a strong man, cruel surface, but with golden heart inside,despite of dozen pains he felt in past. He saved a tender love to his doughter, that light and pure love, what only 1 man can give to young woman - her own father. Till his last words in story I was in hope, that he will live.

Jade, looking for her own way in life, drowned in utopic dreams to bring all 2 countries in peace, and too late realized, how much it hurt the only one native heart in whole world. She is too late open her soul for the truth who is her real parents, just because of her character...

We need to love our parents, besides of all. I need to embrace my father today, and let the controversy burn in hell, which was between us before, until it is not too late.

I am so surprised, story was uploaded here a long time ago. But why it has only few reviews? Are people blind or heartless?

Nice story in its entirety. I loved the parts where Jade spoke with her father last and all the description on various goodbyes. I think it ended well, also, focusing on the releasing of Vachir. Nice symbol. I enjoyed it!

Ah, the very last few paragraphs of this section is magnificent. I really like all the symbolic speaking going on between Mulan and Jade. Truly, it makes me think and again assess my own opinions and what I would do in that place. Yep, that's my favorite part so far.

I love this new perspective, the army following after Mulan's. You keep the emotion strong as well.

Already, a whole background is forged with Jade being the adoptive child of Shan Yu. I am so curious to learn more about it. Well, I'll keep reading!

I bet Vachir and his connection to both Jade and Shan Yu will come important later...I hope so.

Just from the two stories I read by you (I know it is more, but three were connected!), I can see a trend of characterization. That makes me interested in seeing more of your work.

Ack! Such terrible happenings already! Even though I hardly know the characters, I feel for little Yeh Shen.

Probably, because her brother had been coming to help her, I felt it was even a worse death. And after she had just been comforted. Yep, you know how to toy with a reader's emotion!

I especially like how only more pain and screams answered the little girl as she cried for her parents. Truly saddening.

wow. i wish i could write like this. i thought your story was fantastic and you kept everyone in character. i really lie your characters Jade, Tian and Yeh Shen. id love to read anything else you have written.

Hey, I just finished reading your story and I really loved it. It had just the right ammount of action and romance and family. And I have always loved Shan Yu, he has such potential to be a facinating main character. Anyway, I hated that you killed him, but I understand why. Anyway(that's my favorite word!), it's a great story.

Hey this was a really cool Mulan fic.I like the fact that we've been given a great new heroine but that we're still hearing about our old favourites too. I like the way the story ends too, it's not all cleared up but you're still satisfied about it.I just wanna say well done on a great fic!

I think this story was great and putting in those songs was awesome since I have Poc2 and Anna and the King. Characters were great (except for chief fu of course) and your story tied in with the movie perfectly. KEEP WRITING STORIES
