 bluestargem 2009-10-07 . chapter 1Wow.
I LOVE this. Very original.
Wow. |
The One And Only Lobster 2008-07-04 . chapter 1Very interesting. :) Though a bit OoC, I think, somehow. Can't exactly put my finger on it. |
bredalot 2007-08-13 . chapter 1Brilliant. Words have power, in their own right, and they are precise and important and perfect, and you captured that exactly. I love the precision you used in selecting words for this piece: when it's about words, you can't be casual with the words you choose, and you weren't. I also love the idea that this, this is what draws Voldemort, and frankly, I wouldn't be surprised at all. |
q.thews 2006-08-18 . chapter 1You know... this pov could be... the easy one, Riddle's (but i don't know if with his childhood he got the time to learn/appreciate pronunciation) or Malfoy's (he could have been raised and educated at liking right pronunciation) or even Snape (in his pursue of knoledge and subtleness) or even Bellatrix (before completly losing her mind in the darkness of evil).
Intriguing.

Ariana Malfoy- Lestrange 2006-06-09 . chapter 1I was going through my favorites list, and I realized I never left a review.
It sent a chill up my spine. You captured him perfectly- in a way that I haven't seen him ever captured. Really, how do you do it? |
hello heartbreak 2006-05-06 . chapter 1Very plausible, and wonderful characterization. Adding to favorites! |
 imperius unforgivable 2005-05-09 . chapter 1Brilliant. :D |
the green fluff 2005-03-05 . chapter 1Beautiful story.
I was saying the words ("Imperio! Imperio!") to myself while reading, and was stared at oddly by household members. :D
A very interesting look at Tom Riddle.
-puts this story on favourites- |
Lira-chan 2004-01-05 . chapter 1Aya... This, I love, in a twisted sort of way. You're the one in love with the english language, only in your ficlet, it's Tom Riddle who is in love with words and their aesthetics. I just love the idea that, originally, he wasn't some cruel sadistic fiend... Just a kid learning spells and loving the way words flowed. In addition to that- I like the way you ended it.
"They weren’t evil. They were strong and good. Beautiful, even.
And he liked the sound of them."
Hee. I hadn't pulled my strange little quoting habit on you before, because your ficlets are short, sweet, and to the point. Oh, some of it's longer... But you're getting the idea that I'm just a tad lazy, aren't you? Wouldn't be able to go for quite that much HP ficcage. But this... Loving the flow, loving the idea, and it's Tom Riddle. What -fun.-

Aidenfire 2003-09-03 . chapter 1O, how creepy! But that's not saying I didn't like it... I found this story from your sig on FA, BTW. |
Tar Irene 2003-07-24 . chapter 1wow.. that is beautiful. a beautiful study of his mind, and the curses themselves. mm.. |
Liebling 2003-04-17 . chapter 1Creepy indeed. It makes a lot of sense, for evil to begin just with how a word sounds. Brilliant fic. |
Crystalite 104 2003-03-28 . chapter 1WELL. That's a way to think of it I hadn't heard of. He liked saying them. Saying them! Actually looked to me like he also enjoyed inflcting them, but still, a interesting idea. And I like the title, too. "Vocabulary Lesson." Very cool. |
She's a Star 2003-03-22 . chapter 1Oh. *shivers* Very good - a wonderful take on Tom Riddle's childhood. This was such a fascinating idea, and you wrote it so well... There was such an elegant sort of denial throughout the whole thing.
Wonderful. :-)

liquid mercury 2003-03-15 . chapter 1 Beautiful. Simply beautiful, dark and compelling. You can feel the curiously almost innocence in Tom Riddle's thoughts, like a little lost child wondering where 'mummy' had gone. Very in-character and there's a sort of... depth to it. I enjoyed reading it. |
