Iris Domingo 2005-05-11 . chapter 1That's why I like your stories. You treat Christians with respect and you treat your own with the same respect. That's open-mindedness. Being open-minded is not to please everyone around, it's about to see things in a different light , listening to what other's have to say, keeping your reasons grounded, understand people of different faith... different walks of life. If we are going to please everyone, compromising the truth of our faith... that's not open-minededness, that's being gullible. Sorry I went off; your story made me. It's a compliment, if any. |
 minnow-viking 2003-11-16 . chapter 1Whoa . . . that was interesting, thought I don't think I understood it . . . |
Kyobe 2003-01-25 . chapter 1 Sigh...sorry about the helter-skelter brain-fart tone of my last review. I was sleepy and it was late. I like how you represent the Christian girl in this fic. She behaves as most of the Christians I know, not hating but full of deep concern for her friend's soul. This is very realistic. |
Kyobe 2002-12-13 . chapter 1 Okay, granted this is sort of interesting, but how is this fan fiction and what is the point? You're safer having a faith than not, if that's what you're getting at, that you need proof to believe in anything. You actually don't know that you will see the sunrise tomorrow, because yo might die before it happens. I don't mean to preach, but I figured that was your point. |
Laleanen 2002-11-22 . chapter 1 Thank you for portraying a Christian in such a positive light. There are so many who seem to hate us, refusing to hear what we have to say.:(
I'm so glad there are people out there who at least respect us. :) :) thank you!!! you are such a talented writer. I felt like a fly on the wall, listening in to a real conversation. |
 Thalia10 2002-11-11 . chapter 1...awesome...well-written...character-sensitive...words fail me... |
x4 Superduty 2002-11-07 . chapter 1Good story, but it can be harder than this makes it sound for a Christian and an atheist to be friends. And I have nothing against Christians, their religion is for them, mine is for me, it's just hard to have a friend who's bound and determined you will go to Hell if you don't convert. Kinda ruins the atmosphere, ya know? |
Sierra 2002-11-07 . chapter 1 Well, I'd just like to thank you for not making the Christian a jerk! You portrayed Christians with respect and I appreciate that very much. |
Nervous Neuron 2002-11-07 . chapter 1Wow!! Thankyou!! I really liked the way you put things (are you a teacher?) and related it to life, like the hypothesis thingo. The 'cats have fur' things pretty funny too ^_~ And this way my fave idea: "I told you already, I don’t need to convert anybody to my faith. The salvation in my mind and the salvation in your mind are the same spiritual conclusion. What does it matter if the paths are different?"
That is EXACTLY right. DIfferent religions are just different paths to salvation, enlightenment, enternal life, happiness, woteva! Love it! ^_^ |
Sarathiel 2002-11-06 . chapter 1Aww . . . what sweet ending! ^_^ Nice story, good lesson. It was very cute--and I do mean that in a good way; cute's probably not the word I'm looking for, but it'll have to do. >. |
tattered rose 2002-11-06 . chapter 1This was wonderful :). I love it when Christians and non-Christians are able to discuss things such as religion without fighting. A message we could all benefit from. |
 K21 2002-11-06 . chapter 1I felt like I was listening to only the audio portion of some movie . . . - I very much liked it! :-) |
Tallulah 2002-11-06 . chapter 1 That was nice. You sound a very practical person! I liked the arguments you used and the calm outlook on it all, plus the acceptance of other's faith. And the description at the end was nicely written! |
Karis 2002-11-06 . chapter 1 You sound like a great friend. And I really agree with what you say. . .doubting is essential to moving in your faith. Yes, it might be scary to let go, but it can also take you to an unimaginable place of peace and grace. And I think God must appreciate the hard-earned, throughtful faith more than the mechanical drones I see so many Christians settle for. I also like the scientist metaphor (partly because people try to treat science like a religion; maybe if they had to treat religion like science they'd know better!)
In light of some of the other discussions on this page, I hope people read this and see an example of a kind way to talk to someone about faith, not with threats of hell or "promises" or "truths" that are so for them, but maybe not for the listener. This was a lovely example of sympathetic and gentle -- not even guidance, just sort of being there to help her move through those big ideas. I always think that's the best kind of help there is. |
