| RavenLady 2005-03-18 ch 1, | abuseVery cute and funny, and an original idea. Favorite line: “She is a cruel woman, my wife.” Fëanor rubbed his temples. “I do not know why my house attracts strays. First Fingon and now you.” I couldn't stop laughing. |
| Eglaatarwen 2003-09-17 ch 1, | abuseI must congratulate you. Ingenious and very original, I must say, and not a grammatical error anywhere... great work:) Keep writing, it's good to have someone write of Fëanor's *good* side for once, rather than all that death and destruction. *adds author to 'favorite authors' list and 'author alert' list* |
| Tinni 2003-05-05 ch 1, | abuseVery nice story. It's always good to read a story where Feanor is not an insane maniac. |
| Casey Toh 2003-04-24 ch 1, | abuseVery cute, and funny. I found myself chuckling as I read Feanor's reactions to Huan, and how he had no conscious control over what he crafted...and so crafted Huan! |
| Shauna 2003-01-12 ch 1, anon. | abuseOne of the nice things about the Silmarillion section - it allowed me to find this! :) What a wonderful story. Light and sweet and funny. Celegorm saying that Caranthir is his pet, Feanor's funny reactions to the hound, Fingon being labeled as a "stray"... plus, the wonderful family dynamic that you just don't get enough of in most fics. And the ending, gives it just enough depth to make it more than a humor fic, to make it worth remembering. Lovely. |
| erunyauve 2002-12-29 ch 1, | abuseI love the way you capture the Valar and the elves in Aman. Feanor talking to his flowers is a lovely touch. It's also nice to see a different side to Feanor - though I wonder what Earwen thought of her baby gift. |
| Cirdan 2002-11-18 ch 1, | abuseOh yes, it's unfair to only tell of Feanor's later deeds, so instaed, Orome tells a somewhat embarrassing tale about Feanor. :b I really wonder about Celegorm. "If I have to hear about prancing deer one more time..." Feanor deciding that Huan was a hallucination was most amusing. Ingwe unnerves Feanor? Oooo... That I want to see. Nerdanel was so calm throughout the incident that it was amusing in comparison to Feanor's panic. I think Curufin was said to be scared of Huan in some versions of the Lay of Leithian; maybe he inherited it from Feanor? :b A most amusing tale. Poor Feanor. :b Thanks for the birthday gift. *bow* |
| jillian baade 2002-11-17 ch 1, anon. | abuseGreat! And Feanor is afraid of dogs LOL. You make him very normal in this, the father his sons loved so much they swore that stupid oath for. The heatwave being Arien's fault is so cute, maybe she's mad with me cos it's so hot and dry here. Huan is such a cheeky little hound; his characterisation is great all my hounds just take over like he did! Feanor is so nice in this story that it's a pity the children have to learn other sadder tales of him and his family. |
| Maeve Riannon 2002-11-16 ch 1, anon. | abuseWhat delightful little piece! You´re getting better and better, and a story like that is just what I needed now I´m depressed (in other words, while writing one of my horrible stories!) Fëanor afraid of Huan is just too much...and your picture of Oromë matches what you have already said about other Valar. Very well done!! |
| Finch 2002-11-16 ch 1, | abuseLots of fun moments: Orome complaining he always has to go first, Feanor speaking to his flowers, Nerdanel saying Feanor would be tastier than Celegorm - and the best one was Huan wiping his paws on the door rug... But also some serious elements, such as Feanor's disappointment that none of his sons seem to take after him. Lovely story. One thing: Huan was big enough for Luthien to ride, on, so he wasn't your average hound. Perhaps Feanor's fear wasn't really exaggerated. |
| ARtanis 2002-11-16 ch 1, anon. | abuseBWAHAHAHA! Feanor is afraid of doggies! Cute fic! And the mental image of the greatest Eldar hides behind his wife for fear of a doggie is very amusing! |
| Winterfox 2002-11-16 ch 1, | abuseAwwww. Very, very cute story. I feel like hugging my dog now. *eg* Nice title, too. ;) |
| Soledad 2002-11-16 ch 1, | abuseSweet Palúrien, this was a lovely story! Poor Fëanor, afraid of dogs . Well, if anyone, I certainly can relate. And being the greatest craftsman of Valinor and having four sons with no considerable talent... how disappointing. Well, at least Curufin will come later. But it seems that Nerdanel has to treat Fëanor as one of her children, at times. It's good to see them before the Curse. Your description of Oromë is very sweet, too. Obviously, Vána knows exactly how to handle her husband. :) |
| Mouse 2002-11-16 ch 1, | abuseA charming story! Well-done! It's a shame Huan didn't talk to Feanor, though-- I'm sure he would have *loved* that. ^_~ |
