I loved this fic, the introduction of Janice was really clever and i liked how you changed her character and attempted to explain her behaviour.
Anyway if it's possible i think i liked this story even more than the first part lol!

Hey! How could you leave it at such a cliffhanger! I want to know what happens! Anyway, sorry I haven't been back to read this story in a while. I like how perceptive Emily is about Janice having a loud personality because she's overcompensating for being teased.

However, I'm somewhat ambivalent about the project to make over Janice. I think, why stifle her liveliness? Sure, she's annoying, but she's far from bland, and much more interesting than merely pretty characters like Joshua, Janine, Elizabeth, Tag, and so forth. I have an affection for Janice, just the way she was in season 3 when dating Chandler.

I don't know if you know, but on the CBS comedy, Everybody Loves Raymond, Maggie Wheeler (Janice) occasionally guest stars as a married friend of Debra and Ray's. She's amazingly "normal" and understated there, especially compared to the outspoken personalities of the Barone family. Anyway, it just makes me appreciate how good an actress she is.

And regarding your Author's Note: I think that this fic seemed a bit less "British", though it has nothing to do with vocabulary (We use big words here in the States to ya know!) it's more intonation.
Example:
"oh, how I *regret* it" sounds very British. Also, we hardly ever say we are going to *ring* someone...we just call them. And the phone is busy, not 'engaged'. I noticed that it's pretty much the "new" Janice that sounds British in this one.
Overall, your story ideas are great, and it's always good to read something different. But I've noticed, in my experience as a writer/subject for reviews, that if you are going to write an A/U fic (ie, skewing from what would happen on the show) then the characters need to stay very true to the show. HOWEVER, if you alter the character, it needs to stay within the "Friends" realm at least a bit. It sounds weird, but I think there needs to be some semblance of "Friends" in all fics we do, or the readers don't seem to respond. I think that in this case, almost all of the characters have stayed in series character (except Janice, of course, but she's a peripheral, so its alright) with the exception, IMHO, of Chandler and Rachel. All in all, I'd say that despite lackluster reviews, you should consider this series a success in terms of creativity, and a few great laughs!

The Friends sound very British, lol.
I definitely like how much the women are bonding, but I hope they don't totally screw over the guys...seems like Kathy and Chandler's relationship has been shaken up...Ross' as well.
