Fizzing Whizbee 2007-01-04 . chapter 5 "(Snape: Idiot! Potter wouldn’t even abandon ME under circumstances like that!)"
Ah, I love your review replies :) |
duj 2004-04-26 . chapter 9 Good fic. I like what you're doing, especially with Filch.
It's pretty clear that Dumbledore does favour Sirius over Snape and Gryffindors in general over Slytherins.
Sirius should have been expelled for that prank that simultaneously endangered both Snape and Lupin (who would have been executed as a dangerous Dark creature if he'd bitten Snape); why wasn't he? We don't know what punishment he got but surely if he'd been expelled there would have been less general surprise and disbelief when he was believed to be the traitor.
James was made Head Boy even though he continued to bully Snape. How could he be trusted not to misuse the power?
And we only have Sirius's prejudiced word to indicate that Snape had supporters in his fights with the Marauders ("a gang that almost all became Death Eaters"). Think about it: four against one is pretty one-sided no matter how many Dark spells Snape knew and used.
As for general Gryffindor favoritism: how cruel for Dumbledore to allow Slytherins to think they'd won, then make Gryffindor first equalise then overtake their score at the Leaving Feast. Surely points would normally have been over by then. He obviously chose the points rewards and order of giving them deliberately.
And why didn't he take off points for the rule-breaking? The trio stunned Neville, kept vital information from their teachers and broke curfew.
Another example: did Harry and his friends ever get into trouble for attacking Snape in PoA and knocking him unconscious. An expellable offense and they didn't even lose any points. |
duj 2004-04-26 . chapter 8 If you think about it, it's not true that Harry needed the Invisibility Cloak to keep the Philosopher's Stone safe.
Quirrel/Voldemort couldn't break through the mirror to get it so all that Harry achieved was to take the stone out of its final protection and make it accessible to theft.
Snape already strongly suspected Quirrel so you have to wonder what else was going on behind the scenes; did Snape not warn Dumbledore or did Dumbledore ignore him?
The further into the sequence we get the less I like and trust Dumbledore.
Why does he hire such untrustworthy (Quirrel,Lupin), incompetent (Lockhart) and vicious (Moody) DADA teachers?
Why does he secretly encourage Harry and his friends to break school rules?
Why does he wink at bullying both from staff (Snape to Neville, Moody to Draco) and students (eg Marauders) alike? |
duj 2004-04-24 . chapter 6 I don't agree that Snape should be grateful to Dumbledore for taking him in. He's using Snape pretty ruthlessly in return.
I don't think Dumbledore treats Snape at all well.
Does he ever acknowledge that Snape was right about Lupin (sweet guy but he totally betrayed Dumbledore's trust in PoA by not telling what he knew about Black even in face of ever-stronger evidence that Black was using his Animagus skills to get to Harry)? |
Demona169 2003-05-09 . chapter 10Ohh I love it! i like all your squib stories! Argus ROCKS! |
Marie 2003-03-28 . chapter 10 Something you might want to consider in the future is a Filch and MWPP story. |
emma 2003-02-23 . chapter 10 dont tell me yo gave stopped writing? |
oOwth 2003-02-02 . chapter 10gasp, I've actually come to a stop. and now I will need to wait for the next chapter. NOOOO. how dare this happen.
very good job with the story. Can't wait to read more. Must know as soon as its updated. (owl me ozma)
Very good stories.
Has Filch gotten any owls from Minerva yet? |
oOwth 2003-02-02 . chapter 8"Headmaster...?" I murmured, "There's something else. Potter and I... we
talked. And the boy said... he told me that he..."
Taking a deep breath, I blurted out, "Sir, did you know that he has an..."
my voice softened to a whisper, "Invisibility Cloak?"
The Headmaster smiled at me again. His eyes were sad, grave and fond all
at once. "Why yes, Argus."
"You KNEW?" I gasped. ** LOL
.. I had more to comment on but reading all the little stuff at the bottom made me forget ^.^; opsies. But it all basically would have dwindled down to meaing 'great story, must read more'. |
oOwth 2003-02-02 . chapter 7"Go, Gryffindor!" Filch shouted at him.
Harry staggered up the stairs. (It wasn't until much, much later that he
realized Filch had been insulting him. He didn't have time right then to
think about it.)
lol poor filch, nooone seems to be taking his insults the way he planned.
^_^ hehe like how you made Dumbledore and her friends.
XD @ Dumbledore's reply to Filch.
awww, the harpy can't flit with him. he's taken. |
oOwth 2003-02-02 . chapter 5gasp I've gone 5 chapters without reviewing?
I love how you portrayed Dudley. He isn't evil. ^_^ and he's rather smart. hehe. He sure picked up on the irony fast.
The Grey Lady is interesting. I wonder what sort of loopholes she'd find if she was at hogwarts.
"But Mr Filch, I was not roaming the halls during dark. I am obviously roaming the stairs. You should know, Halls and Stairs are not at all the same." |
Eowulia 2003-01-21 . chapter 10Excellent! Very well written! Poor Harry...having to go through so many horrors in such a short amount of time. Harry needs a hug! |
, 2003-01-18 . chapter 10 Hey, Ozma. Please write more Squib/Filtch stories. It's nice to read something a little different for a change. |
Myranya 2003-01-16 . chapter 10Wow. Almost at the end of your series, well, I still got Squib Apprentice left for tomorrow but I've understood it is more of a prequel. I am very impressed! You took a character whom we barely see and turned him into a main character, and not only that, you turned him into a *likable* character without going OOC... Took your time too, one of my pet peeves is that people put characters like Snape or Draco together with Harry or others they don't like, make *one* thing happen and two paragraphs later they're great friends or even lovers. I mean, get real! Your series works up to a more human Filch in a way that's quite believable, just one event leading up to the next, one step at a time. I started my own Snape/Harry fic (series as well, 'though only one is up :)) trying to do something similar, partly out of frustration with the many 'Snape sees Harry hurt and loves him from that moment on' fics, but you took a far more original character to work with. I have a Filch scene in mine but I wouldn't have thought to center on him in a million years.
I'm very glad I stumbled onto your work and I sincerely hope you will continue the Squib series! |
