I read this yesterday, came back tonight to read it again. I laughed several times at work today with the thoughts of the bathtub scene running through my head. You write about the family of O'Connells here, not as individuals, but as one big relationship that fits together perfectly.
It makes for wonderful reading.
Evie can most certainly be a 'one woman national emergency', but she is his national emergency, and damn if Rick doesn't love her all the more for it. Thanks for writing them this way. Believable.

I find your short stories such a pleasure to read and I often lose myself in them...

I've had the giggles for about twenty minutes now, and everyone around certainly thinks I'm insane. But literally, this was one of the funniest stories ever.....so adorable, and I was laughing all the way through it. Every line was priceless. "Sometimes it's a marriage, sometimes it's an inquisition." "Good thing Imhotep never attacked us in the bathroom. It would have all been over in seconds." "Whatever it is," he pronounces solemnly, "I hope it's not hereditary."

Fabulous, hilarious story. Great companion to the previous one, too. You write Rick's voice very well, and everything that comes out of their mouths is realistic. Great, great, great job. I really enjoyed this one!!!

The most remarkable aspect about this story, for me at any rate, is Alex. I just can't bring myself to like the little bugger, he drives me balmy! But here, I have to eat my words. You've done a wonderful job on him (at times I'd like to do a job on him, as well) I found him to be realistic with just the right amount of 'muck about'. Well done! Really enjoyed the humour of the characters too. Smiles! Sweet story.
