Reviews for: A Pale Light Lingering

Wondeful job! I loved the way you portrayed the Rangers and the sorrow of war. The bitter remark that the youngest died first was sad. Excellent job!

"In Ithilien, we lived each day closer to the Shadow than most men in Gondor would dare even to think upon, and yet we did not yield."

This verse struck me most of all. Thank you for this short yet somewhat sad glimpse of Ithilien and the Rangers there.

A well-chosen speech.
Grav 2/27/04 . chapter 1
Wow, that was quite the speech. As always, wonderfully descriptive. I loved it.
Ainaechoiriel 1/3/03 . chapter 1
Loved the speech at the end. I could feel the cold and the cavern at HA. Good job.

I loved the way this story gave a sense of a culture with rituals that extend across space and time. And I have always admired the way the character of Faramir managed to salvage a sense of duty, fellowship, and purpose from his rather bleak home life. You have captured that sense perfectly.

Another Faramir tale! I should tell you that i cherish these well-written Faramir stories, as I'm already worrying about the arrival of badly written Faramir fanfic with the release of the Two Towers. "The light starts here, with us, in Ithilien." - a great ending line for a wonderful little tale.
