VeltaIO 2004-12-14 . chapter 11
A nice idea. A credible original villain. Lots of material to think about. I did however find that Dick seemed a little too negative about Bruce's cover identity. I liked the final scene but was dissappointed that she felt quite as negative about Wayne as she did - not that her reasons are hard to understand, Overall a very dark piece. Please keep writing about the Bats - you have great ideas.

I really loved this story! I especially like the ending--Bruce needs someone like Rebecca! All of your stories are amazing and you're a very talented writer. I hope to see more from you soon!

Of all the Batman-related fics I've read, this one is my absolute favorite. The plot has real depth, the writing is superb, and you didn't make the public Bruce Wayne a complete idiot (because how believeable is that, anyway?).

I like the mix of "No Man's Land" characters, also. I think I need to upgrade my description of your writing from Danielle Steele to something better - you do edgy VERY well!

Calico,
This was great. Glad I waited to read it till it was complete. Otherwise I would have been biting my nails till the next chapter was posted. Loved the end. I love that you seem to give Bruce the happy ending he so deserves.

One complaint, however, and it's a small one, the way you portrayed Nightwing didn't ring true. Probably because of the way he behaved during Fugitive in cannon. Though I think I understand why you did it, considering you had Barb be one of the potential victims.

Again, I loved the story.

Wonderful conclusion...definitely leaves my li'l head full of questions, but nonetheless, I like where you took this one. I really don't know how you get inside his head like you do, but it's uncanny and I absolutely love it.

Woohoo! Can't say the twip didn't deserve it!

Nighty just can't ever let things go. It cracks me up (and I think probably Oracle too) that he prides himself on his differences from Bats and yet he's so very much him.

As to the "plot hole" of Bruce not calling the police. I actually find it sort of whin character for him to just jump in the fray himself. Especially in this instance. While I guess it could go either way, it still works.

Anyhoo, very enjoyable chapter -- I hate it when you pull cliffhangers like this, btw, but still very fun to read! Can't wait for the ending!

And, just one more thing -- did Bruce report the encounter with Dante to the police? And if he didn't, please let us know why. It seems that a name and description in the hands of the police and media would be very, very handy -- the more people who see and know, the more chance of finding Dante (and since the story seems to be winding up, it would put a lot of pressure on Dante to finish what he started, since he couldn't use his pick-up technique to get the women anymore). For Batman/Bruce not to report the encounter would be silly -- but this is just a little nitpick, I really love this story.

This is an excellent story, with a great mystery at the heart of it. Not necessarily a mystery of 'who' or 'why', but rather, 'how will they get him?' Very well done in both plot and character. Great job.

Oooo, you are a mean one. This is like Morrie and the Tim thing.

Awww....

Really gets to me...right here...in my li'l heart....

Er, uh, yeah. Anyhoo, nice chapter. Gettin' interesting, Calico. I'm curious. But boy you're getting victim happy in this one. ;) Not that I'm complaining. Very true to form Bats.

And the ending for this chapter. Seriously, makes me feel like some kid who can't form sentences longer than three words.

I'm in awe of you...have I ever said that? (Well, duh, just did now.)
Bleu Unicorn 2003-01-23 . chapter 3
Obviously, I'm not done, but I just had to comment anyway.

I really love it. Definitely an interesting twist for Batsy. Not very often that he has to actually -deal- with his emotions. And yet, he really still can't since he can't -not- do something as Batman, so as always Bruce gets shortchanged in the "deal with it like a grown man" aspect.

As always you've got Bats just nailed. But you've got Bruce down as well. I love the interaction in this chapter especially. Everyone with a brain knows Bruce isn't stupid -- well every real person, that is.

I'm really curious as to where it's going...and I'm sure I'll have more to add!

ANGST!!! I knew the flowers were a red flag! Bonehead Nightwing!!! Hurry with the next chapter! I can't stand this!
SKH 2003-01-21 . chapter 8
Everything screeched to a halt! Oh, my goodness, hurry up and conclude this story!
Batman/Bruce was so tender with Rebecca. But Dick is coming off as so judgmental. Actually, he makes a lot of sense, since he has been around longer than any of the Bat-clan (with the exception of Alfred) to witness Bruce's use of women "as props." But... dun-dun-DUNNN... that little harbinger of Barbara's flowers. Dick did NOT send them, right?
SKH 2003-01-21 . chapter 2
Calico, I'm just on chapter 2, but I'm so impressed and involved with this story! I love your attention to detail ("It had that slick feeling, like it had been dry-cleaned too many times"). This is so well-developed and visual. I feel like I'm watching a film rather than reading a story. I'll write more after I've read more of the story, but I had to break in and say how much I am enjoying "Raven's Cry."
