Dayum... Nice one!

I did something I probably shouldn't have.

1: I have a cold, so I tear up easier than normal

2: I put a particularly sad sounding song from Spirited Away on repeat while reading this

3: I lost myself in the music of the story and the music in my headphones.

End result? I started crying at the end of the story. Now there's mucus trying do escape from my nose and I typed the first part of this review by feel because my glasses were all messed up and I couldn't see.

I hope you're proud of yourself. There's not much that can get me to cry.

Excellent, excellent, and excellent. I loved how Ukyo treated Akane; I loved how she didn't let on that she was merely giving Akane someone to hate; I loved your take on the "Saint Ukyo" theme, one which I usually find detestible. ;)

This was a fine story. It was very moving; your storytelling skills are great, as are your technical abilities. Well done.

My goodness. In all my time of reading Ranma fics (about six years, now) I don't recall ever reading this before.

Very nice, and appropriately concise story. No need to drag along certain scenes when you've already fleshed the scenario out enough and your story contains an in-character cast.

I particularly enjoyed your description of Akane's friends' reactions to her disabiltiy. All, including Shampoo's, are presented in terribly accurate honesty.

But in the end, this was at its core a story built on Ukyo's obsessiveness and its path/consequences in a very distressful time that barely deviates from the original series. And I enjoyed how you portrayed 'hardcore' Ukyo. Generally I dislike when any fanfic uses a caricature of a character (Akane and the Kuno's are the most common victims), rather than attempting to paint any real picture behind individuals' wants, needs and emotions.
Thankfully, you didn't fall into this trap here. Your charictarization is gritty while remaining faithful to canon character concepts. You clearly understand the characters as you perceive them.

In summation; fine writing.

I have to admit, after having read all but one of your stories now, I can safely say you have a better grasp of reality than the large majority of any of the people who have posted their stories on this site - though considering the fact that that literally anyone CAN post here (case in point: the "i like poopie" stories that some deranged, extremely sick, and extremely stupid fool put up here a while ago,) that's not really saying all that much.

But as I was saying, Pilgrim is obviously capable of writing stories that really make you think. This one was extremely good, all things considered. If the particular canon story arc this fic is based on had gone down the path story says it could've, it likely would've ended up much like this. Also nice to see that you don't shy away from some of the grimmer aspects of the traditional Japanese culture, and human nature itself, that most people don't like to consider. And though I've basically already said so indirectly, from what little I know of Canon Ukyou (and that is admittedly very little,) she would very likely have head down this path had Ranma given his life to save Akane. Anyone that obsessed with someone, upon losing them, would not easily lose that obsession, likely converting it to something else, or refocusing it as you've shown here.

Again, very nice story.

damn this was good. do like the way the japanse culture treat someone who is cripple and do like ukyo scrafice to help akane. do feel sorry for ryoga and shinnokose the did love akane too.

This is one of the best histories of fanfiction that I read.

Whoo. A truly excellent story. The premise goes against all Ranma convention, of course, but the story easily makes me not care.

Good setup, solid execution. Ukyo's survival was well plotted. But why was it needed to add the reciprocity in the end? This is not how the world works, not ours, not Ranma's. IMHO, the story would only win if the last segment was omitted.

Damn your stories are so ... emotional. and so much better than the actual series!
