Bishopx 2008-09-30 . chapter 5I am enjoying this so far. You're a very talented writer. Please keep up the good work. I'm starting the next one now. |
ghostninja85 2004-04-30 . chapter 5Hey interesting story. I searched fanfiction for some tim/robin fics since he's getting the boot right now. I only hope it's a temporary DC thing, or he at least get's his own costume later on. Now on to the next story in the series. |
Tony 2003-10-13 . chapter 5 This story is awesome! I really hope you continue
with this story. I'm really hope Tim also got better
in his detective skills. I want to know how is going
to deal with his dad and whether or not he is going
to become Robin again I doubt it or some other vigilante.
I hope you add Superboy, Impulse, Wonder-Girl and some
young superheroes in the mix. Did they try and contact
Tim or they couldn't? Did they get better in fighting as
well?
I could see you do a lot with this story. Please
UPDATE!! I can't wait to read it. |
nchan 2003-07-06 . chapter 5 You know, I love this fic. I know I've told you this previously when I read it the first time, but it bears repeating. Importantly, the story reads just as well the second and third time through as it did the first, and I'm thoroughly enjoying finding little nuances as I re-read. Can't wait for more of the story to be written. |
Phaze 2003-02-13 . chapter 5Awesome story. So very well writen. Not everyone can blend the action of fighs with the drama of human emotions into one story. Your narative is engrossing and moves along perfectly with out being long or tedious. Very good job and I look forward to the next part and stories from you for a long time to come.
Thank you so much for sharing. |
Rai_st 2003-01-31 . chapter 5 I really like the story. It's always interesting to view how people view Tim when he will grow up. Normally you can put the fans in two groups 1.) Those who view he'll be able to beat Nightwing. 2.) Those who don't. |
Adam 2002-12-21 . chapter 5 You're welcome. I'm glad my suggestion was well-recieved. I was unaware of the quote Icon mentioned, which does seem fairly contradictory. I'd assume that's the fault of whoever is in charge of continuity for Tim at DC. In any case, since you say you're really good at ignoring suggestions you don't like, I would suggest that it was Tim's enforced retirement that changed his mind about being a hero for life. It's one thing to intend to give something up in the future, quite another to have it taken away from you in the present. I would think that after a few months of having to lead a purely ordinary life, Tim came to the realization that not only did he want to be Robin now, but that he didn't want to ever give up being a super-hero. That epiphany could be what spurred his training efforts, knowing that he intended to reurn to the Game for good sooner or later.
As for Spoiler, would she really have lasted for three years without Tim's help? She could have died in the line of duty, or had an experience or failure that made her give up her costumed identity.
Now that I'm done with the unsolicited advice, let me say that I really enjoyed Chapter Five. Tim has obviously been away too long, though, if he ever thought Alfred was going to let him leave and go to a motel.
I'm very glad to read that you're going to make this a series and I eagerly anticpate the next installment after the first of the year. Until then, happy holidays! |
mic 2002-12-20 . chapter 5 Wow, I really loved this. Although I love the whole Bat Clan (uh, let's not include Spoiler here) I gotta say Tim is my favorite. Reading a beautifully written fic featuring him was an absolute delight.
I can't wait for the sequel! This fic has endless possibilities...you just have to write more, I beg you! Confrontation with Jack Drake will be something to look forward to (although I'm sure Tim wouldn't be as excited...) and I just have this feeling we haven't seen the best of Tim yet. I'm also curious how the YJ gang will react to his return *hint hint*
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for such a wonderful Tim fic! Loved it! |
 Wildshot 2002-12-19 . chapter 5 Great Fic. I love Tim Drake/Robin stories.
One thing I like about his character is that he seemd to have so much potential from the very start. Now we are getting a glimpse of under extreme circumstances how much better his has gotten.
The story showed his improvement in not just his physical skills but his attitude and mental abilities too. (Young) Tim was always seen to be the more "Sherlock Holmes" than "Jackie Chan" Robin, but here we seen more of a balancing out.
I did have a little problem with the statement that he was was before an "talented but average fighter". I be first to admit it wasn't like he was a first rate fighter. However I doubt that Batman would have let me out if he wasn't as way above average. I don't wish to appear like a nit-picker either. And I realize part of that statement to emphansize the amount of improvement he has undergone.
By the way, I am interested if/when you explain some of Tim's martial arts training during exile. Before Tim seems to always have very BAD luck when training under martial art masters (other the bat-clan). While studying on his own with his first teacher (which he never to got finish) after becoming Robin he got invovled in the whole "King Snake" business. 2 other teachers he had died. The only other one that is still around and kicking is Lady Shiva (same lady that helped Batgirl get her combat-language style back) and he stopped his training with her after... um.. difference of opinon.
Please don't take it that I dislike your work, in fact REALLY REALLY LIKE IT.
I can't wait for you next fic in this storyline.
The storyline is great, created an "future" that I can totally believe can happen. |
2002-12-19 . chapter 5 really good story, i can't wait for the next fic. ithe way you write tim is great. |
Appreciative reader 2002-12-18 . chapter 5 A very enjoyable read. It flowed extremely well. Could follow along easily even though I'm not real knowledgeable on the 'Bat' histories. |
QOShea 2002-12-18 . chapter 5 Cool chapter! Glad to hear you're continuing this. It looks good! Can't wait to see Steph's reaction to the new Tim. AND how she reacts to his having left. |
Icon 2002-12-18 . chapter 5This has been excellent, and I most definitely do want to hear more about this future, and how Tim got to be so kick-** good.
BTW Tim's statement about giving up the hero gig (The Memroable "You wanted to be a superhero, I'm happy just being Robin") was sort of contradicted by Tim's statement to Young Justice (in YJ #7) that he explains that he would have no problems giving up being a masked hero, because when that happens it will be because the world will be a place where there will be no more need for masked heroes. That kind of shows a longer term commitment, IMHO. |
Fusion Blaster 2002-12-17 . chapter 5Well you definatly have my attention with this fic.
I can't wait for the sequel. |
QOShea 2002-12-17 . chapter 4 Looks good! Can't wait to see how Tim does against Cass. And what he does to his dad. |
