I have the same views about Mary-Sues (as I think most writers [even if I'm barely considered one] do)... Although, somethimes they are sub-conciously written, but that doesn't excuse the fact that most think they are irritating. Lol, and this is original in itself because I haven't seen another fic like this, good job!

Most people don't like original characters at all in fanfic (because if you wanted to read about someone new- why would you be reading fanfiction?), much less self-inserted, perfect, wonderous, etc. etc. Le sigh.

Being a loather of InuxOC fics and the like, this fic was really a relief that there are other people out there who hate these kinds of fics (but we must stop and consider this question; does anybody?). There were a lot of subtle things that were very humorous, such as Merisu (heh; Merisu=Mary Sue) saying "Please don't flame me!" and Kagome's almost-too constructive constructive criticism. Excellent. And you obeyed the rules of grammar! ((claps)) I'm very drawn to fics such as these, and already have five of them on my "Favorite Stories" list. Let's make that number six, now...

If I had a nickle for every highschool AU fic where every character is completely different, I'd have over 100 bucks. And I bet maybe three of them are actually good.
Varethane 2005-02-15 ch 1,	abuseYes! Yes, all those Mary Sue authors, READ THIS! There are many points in here that all authors should contemplate, not just those who write shudder Mary Sues. Anyone interested in finding out whether their character is a Mary Sue should take a Mary Sue litmus test. You can find them all over, in any fandom... just google 'Mary Sue Litmus Test(s)' with the name of the series in question, and you'll find lots. The invasion must be stemmed! And, good work to CatWho, for putting this out there. (I didn't even realize that 'Merisu' is like the... er... more Japanese-sounding version of Mary Sue until that last scene... baka Varethane!) Taa! ^_^

And if you get flames... shrugs It's probably from the guilty parties. I think all the fresh, wide-eyed babes who come to fanfiction for the first time should automatically get a copy of this. Even if they know how to write. It's a good tutorial, and a nice little dire warning. I think we've all had enough of the badfic to give us rampant nightmares... Beaut!
