Reviews for Mid Winter's Eve
Elladan of Rivendell 7/19/05 . chapter 1
I've been power-reading to get through all your stories and had steeled myself to only review the last one and tell you all this then (probably still will do that too) but I had to review this! This is a great story, even if it was only 1 chapter. YOu could easily branch more chapters off and get El', 'Ro, and Lego' into a whole mess of trouble this winter!
Romen 4/26/05 . chapter 1
Aw, that was sweet. I love your portrayal of the twins and Legolas.

Cute Yule story...I like the twins and Legolas getting into mischief. So...where's the backstory? Sequel? Did they find the spiders? How *did* Legolas know about the ravine? Do spiders hibernate? I have so many questions!
Dragon Confused 1/15/03 . chapter 1
Ooooh nice story! I love stories about the twins and Christmas makes me all happy.
Karri 1/3/03 . chapter 1
This is excellent! There are many stories out there with Legolas and Aragorn getting into mischief, but far too few with Legolas and the twins. Good work! :D
erunyauve 12/29/02 . chapter 1
But did they find the spiders? You do a nice job with Treehugger's Brethil - he's such an endearing and interesting character. It must have been fun to write him.

It seems rather unfair, however, that Elrond *never* lets it snow in Rivendell - they should at least have a bit at Yule.
Jocelyn 12/28/02 . chapter 1
That was so CUTE! I can't believe I missed it! For cryin' out loud, let me know when you write a new fic; that's the second one I've almost missed completely!

Those three just can't seem to stop getting into trouble, can they? They're adorable, and I LOVE the snowball fight! Such enterprising little mischiefmakers, aren't they? I've run out of synonyms for cute.

But this was a wonderful, sweet, heartwarming tale that's livened up all the depression that seems to be sweeping ficdom of late (my own fic included!) Now all we need is to see a bunch of elflings curled up asleep by the fire. (giggle!)

Wonderful story. Looking forward to seeing more from you.
Wild Iris 12/28/02 . chapter 1
Oh, that was charming! I liked your take on the Elvenking - his heightened senses and empathy with his forest were great ideas, and there was a nice balance between him being a strong king and a compassionate man (Elf). Legolas was a delightful young Elf, too; just a bit reckless in his dangerous teasing of the twins, yet so brave and resolute when he set out to fetch them back! The scenes were very vivid, and I liked the little fun touches like the sweet parcels, and the snowball fight.

If I might nitpick one thing, it was the lack of commas at the end of dialogue fragments - a bit distracting in such an otherwise polished story.
odyssey1 12/22/02 . chapter 1
This is a perfect Christmas story. The athmosphere, the tone - everything was just beautiful.

If you allow me a minor nitpick: in the books it's emphazised how elves don't suffer from the cold as much as human beings do (i.e. on Caradhras). Still, I loved the story so much that this detail only came into my mind really really late. I love the way you describe each and every character :)

P.S. You might want to check my favourite author-page. Merry Christmas :)
