 amai-kaminari 2006-10-12 . chapter 1TT_TT That's so heartbreaking! Poor Gojyo! TT_TT |
Merci 2005-04-26 . chapter 1Wow. I have to say, POVs can be really difficult (at least for me ^_^") and this is done so perfectly. I can hear Gojyo's voice in the text and it's the little things that make this so wonderful. The melancholy is so fitting, yet the glimmer of hope at the end is what made me love it so. |
mintyfreshsocks 2004-01-05 . chapter 1 Holy **, that was good. *_* I love the melancholy in it, and also how there's still this faith. . . almost a *knowledge* that he'll be back. Beautiful. |
wanling the great 2003-09-03 . chapter 1oh my... wonderful fic you have here. i love the whole hakkai-doesn't-love-gojyo-back thing... it's so sweet. i liked it a lot. very very tastefully done. thank you =) |
Ju 2003-05-10 . chapter 1This has a lovely melancholy tone, and the way you got into Gojyo's mind really had -me- thinking.
Kudos. |
 kei22 2003-01-05 . chapter 1gojyo pov!
gojyo jealous of hakkai and the monk!
this is good man...
a sequel perhaps?
maybe give the kappa enough beer so that he would go to the monk n find out whats attracting hakkai? |
 lethaL-Grace 2002-12-26 . chapter 1Ch.
Not many people do Gojyo POVs.
U r a Great One to be able to pull this off so well.
It's very in depth, and yes, i dun see a lot of jealousy fics revolved around Gojyo. It's basically Goku/Sanzo who do all the jealousy thing. Everybody just thinks his's a happy-go-lucky guy who doesen't care much about who he screws, but i deeply believe, that beaneath that playboy facade, is a guy who is, as you said, scared to be brave and truly love anymore. He just doesen't see anyone worthy enough to let him throw caution to the winds and love again. Pairings-wise, anything goes ok with me.
This could have a sequel, ya know. Maybe Gojyo has a change of heart or something? Maybe you could do one on Hakkai's POV of this too? And what DiD Hakkai and Sanzo do in that room? I'm sure lotsa people are curious about these.. Demo, it's all up to ya.
Actually, I just wanna see you continue to write. You don't write with flowery language, but just with simple words that give real impact on the reader.
Gambatte.
Lotsa wadeva and wenever,

Fall 2002-12-24 . chapter 1I love the way you wrote the angst -- very powerful. Gojyo is a complex character to deal with, so it's refreshing to read of him in a nice serious fic.
You can say I am a rabid fan of the Sanzo x Hakkai pairing, but that doesn't stop me from liking the Gojyo x Hakkai pairing as well. |
poignance 2002-12-23 . chapter 1wow, this is really good! you've done gojyo's pov really really well. this is totally in character and stuff and normally these kind of fics are pretty tiring after reading for too long but you've managed to keep a good pace and not just fill the whole fic with angsty rants and stuff. great job! |
 sf 2002-12-23 . chapter 1squee... *cough*
So what -were- Hakkai and Sanzo doing? (Nothing, probably.. ack.)
I like the ending; the unresolved tension, the feeling of time passing. The phrase 'what we used to have between us'.
Share, Gojyo! Share! *snickers*. |
Kanzeon 2002-12-23 . chapter 1That's the thing with Gojyo, looking for love in the weirdest places . . .
(Hakkai ought to make up his mind. They need each other!) |
Lady Ravenshadow 2002-12-23 . chapter 1Ah Bhex, you have such a way of getting into the very attractive heads of those Saiyuki boys. The four all have such complex personalities and problems that they would all be in heavy-duty therapy in the real world; and perhaps that is the bond that holds them together.
"Room" was such a moving bittersweet piece and I think that this one fits in just perfectly. Gojyo is such an interesting character -- one of those tortured types with a lot of emotional baggage who try to hide it behind humor and a carefree attitude. But as we find out during the series, he definitely has a lot of personal issues that need to be resolved regarding his family in particular.
I do have to disagree with you that Jien didn't care for his brother -- I think that he was the only one who did, which is why he took such drastic measures to protect him (and no doubt it was probably the hardest thing he had ever had to do in his life -- afterall, he and his mother were lovers). Although I can see how Gojyo would see the act and his brother's subsequent leaving as a type of betrayal -- the very young Gojyo no doubt had to grow up in quite a hurry and alone in the world besides. Perhaps that is why he preferred one-night stands and being a loner -- no ties meant no chance for hurt or betrayal.
As popular as the Gojyo/Hakkai pairing is, I still think that Sanzo/Hakkai is a much more plausible couple. The two of them have a spiritual bond and they compliment each other very well. Both of them have lost the people that were closest to them, while they were powerless to do anything to prevent it. They both carry a lot of guilt for the death's of their loved ones and if Sanzo ever confided what happened the night that his master was killed to anyone, I really believe that it would be Hakkai. It's always Hakkai that Sanzo turns to for advice and input; and Hakkai seems to naturally respond to being Sanzo's second in situations.
Yet another insigtful and engaging look into the psyche that drives our favorite western travelers. I hope that you've got something in mind for Hakkai and Goku down the road -- I think that they would be equally fascinating to read.
The only criticism that I have is the rating -- you might want to bump it up to a PG13 or R, if only for the use of the "f" word. I'd hate to see this story (or you) get bumped from the site because someone complained -- a PG13 would probably suffice (I think it specifies certain words in the ratings section of the FAQ section).
Again, a nice piece of writing and I hope to see more soon. |
cherrydust 2002-12-23 . chapter 1I liked this. ^_^ There's just something about Gojyo ranting [preferrably about Hakkai] that makes me go 'AW!' and this was no different.
Are you planning on continuing this? Hakkai's inability to make a firm choice between Sanzo and Gojyo leaves fair ground for a sequel, but also leaves the reader wondering. And a thought-provoking fic is definitely a good fic.
Continued or not, this story was an enjoyable one and I'm delighted I happened across it. ^_^ |
Laree 2002-12-23 . chapter 1Lovely. Very, very lovely fic. You truly made me feel for Gojyo even though I'm a rabid Sanzo x Hakkai fan. Loved this. Very good work ^_^
