I am an absolute sucker for sentient non-human POV, and this is lovely, particularly the by-play with the Weasleys. I don't know King's original except by reputation, but as I re-read I see that you have salted inconspicuous hints throughout the back-story. Gorgeously done!

Like another of your reviewers, I confess I could not resist something labeled 'Dark Fluff.' The only thing tastier is 'Tragedy/Humor'.

I love how Molly took charge and put the spell on the car to help her kids... so crafty, especially as she obviously harboured some mistrust of the machine/creature.

Speaks loads about SEverus that he has a dark aura about him, but still the centaurs give him the time of day. It is a shame no-one else seemed to notice this earlier. Well, perhaps DD did... but he had another agenda preoccupying him, didn't he?

It never ever occurred to me to think of the flying car as a sentient being and a character worth centering in a story. Great idea! Speedy prose. Kept up the intrigue for me all the way. Oh and this screams out for an illustration.
