I'm absolutely astounded; there are very, very, very (a couple more thousand 'verys') few people I have come across who can do Freya and Amarant believably, and congratulations, you're one of them! I love the issues you put between them - I love how you illustrate them as lovers; they get ** at each other and they cut themselves on the other's corners but it *works*, it works extraordinarily well. I loved the scene where Zidane almost burst in on them and Amarant had to hide under the bed - it made me laugh out loud, just because the thought of it all was hilarious to me. I loved it when Freya accidentally said 'Fratley', and the way Amarant reacted. There's a lot of moments in this piece that make me smile. You do tenderness between them very well. The only thing I'd be critical of - and this is tiny, mind - is that you sometimes use punctuation oddly; for instance, when Zidane says in Chapter 4, "almost.to.Daguerro" I don't know exactly what you're trying to do - I think you're possibly trying to slow down the dialogue, or maybe it's just an error, but if you're trying to slow it down you should probably use ellipses. Oh, man, this thing is just fantastic. I love it. Please, please, please finish. I'm actually begging you here. It would be wonderful to have another consistent Freya/Amarant writer in my mental write-up. Thank you for writing this! |
