You seem to have this thing about having the characters talk in third-person, which kind of bothered me at first, but it seems to have lightened up as the story progresses.

All in all, I want to know more about Shigure's mission, and what Hatsuharu wants with Tohru.

Hi there. It's been a hell of a while since I stayed up so late to reread your entire story at one go. I hope that at this point in your life, you have been able to salvage the loss of your home and your faith in the universe. That being said, I can tell how full your life is because of how fully you've developed To Catch a Flower. I am in love with Shigure and his troubles (esp. the ones he digs for himself). I absolutely love the ongoing interaction between the Souma and the outsiders; it's so realistic and clever from all angles. Even though none of this happened in the canon, what you have written is the truth of your characters. That, more than anything, outweighs any negative critiques that To Catch a Flower may have generated (which calls to mind Uotani-san saying "What's digusting is your blatant jealousy."). I do get lost in all the Japanese words, but I'm even more lost in the excitement of the plot. And the winding prose is not so bad because this is Shigure's head space we're talking about here. His mind is a whirling hub of chaos and it stands to reason that his "Inside" voice parallels the writing. As a selfish fan, I humbly request a favor of you: If you put this story to rest, is it possible to leave some quick words in your bio saying so? Thank you.

Good story so far; I haven't read it all the way through, but I do like it. However, I'd like to point out a translation error. Sumimasen means "excuse me" in japanese, while "gomen nasai" means "I apologize" and gomen means "sorry". Just a little help from your friendly neighborhood... uh, me... kay? *smiles*

This is such a great story. I'm sorry you've abandoned it. Maybe someday you'll come back to it? Anyhow, I love your version of Shigure. Scheming and plotting--typical Shigure (even if he did turn out to be a bit... darker in the actual series). Still, I love your writing. Thanks for an hour of enjoyable reading!

So you put in phrases like 'hajimemashite' and 'doozo yoroshiku', which are not used much in general conversation, but you don't explain the subtle nuances between honorifics like -kun, -san, -chan etc and the significance of not including an honorific at the end of someone's name? Very strange...
