Yet another beautiful story... *sigh* At least this one ended much more cheerfully, _ And it's nice to see that Hikaru and Hiko finally have a happy ending for themselves.

I have only one single complaint about how you wrote this fic - don't give things away at the beginning! I find that a story is far more effective and dramatic if you don't know that someone is going to die beforehand, _;;

It's also a negleceted part, what Hiko thought of Kenshin after the war. I think you are right that he has to be disappointed. I agree that Hiko couldn't have stopped Kenshin, with his young age simply couldn't grasp the political situation. Being good with the sword and making tactical decisions is one thing, but the huge power struggles aren't that easy to comprehend.

Well, back to Hiko and Hikaru. They are both very stubborn for keeping on the usual procedure. At least they are both sarcastic again :)

I guess in a way it's more realistic, I guess in such times infections easily spread. I think you could have made Toshiro a bit afraid of death, I don't think that he has no fear at all.

You got Hikaru really good again, how she was thinking of her husband, how she met Seijurou. Reading your story is like reading literature, and it's actually the only story I know (or I liked enough to keep reading?)

I have never review the fics, but I have been following the entire series with Hikaru. I love her, and as an author who also works with OC I tell you, you did a WONDERFUL job with her.

It's very difficult to create a real character, and make it believable and lovable as you did with you wonderful Hikaru

The whole story, from the time where Hiko was the apprentice of the Hiten Style and she was a geisha, is compelling, beautiful. I'm always happy when I find your updates. Wow! I really like the interaction between Hiko and Hikaru, and the mood you created in that scene, especially the contrast between the setting and the reality. You know, the garden's softness and brightness and the harsh and dark situation. Also, characters reaction is very realistic. Hiko is still so cool, he never loose his head eh?

Nice to see Seijuro and Toshiro getting along a bit. I also liked the way how you let Hikaru hear the news of Hitokiri Battousai.

I think the fact that repels many readers is what attracts me, that this fic covers a very negleceted part of the RK-history.

I think this was a long needed chapter. Toshiro has to be upset, knowing that Hiko is very real competition for him. I think you got him quite well in this chapter.

Well, you're certainly right about Hikaru having a naive, or at the very least a *biased*, side. She is the closest thing Kenshin has to a mother after all, and what mother would willingly admit that something like those assasinations would be *her* child's own fault?. Isn't it interesting how much more we discover about our characters as we write them?.

I also like the way you wrote both Toshiro and Hiko in this chapter. It seems to me that they are beginning to relate to eachother somewhat, as they both love Hikaru and they both care for Kenshin, though not to the point where they are blinded to his faults and mistakes.

Oh joy! Another Hiko/Hikaru story! I really like the way you write Hiko. He is very in character, yet very different from the manga. He is very 3-D in your story.

I've read all your other excellent stories about Hiko and Hikaru at Animated Lust, so it was great to find this new one here!.

I have only recently watched the Kyoto Arc after Zora sent it to me, and I can now see why you (and Hikaru!) love Hiko so much!. Arrogant, egocentric, but that's certainly justifiable!. Besides, that's part of his charm as a character!. And in Hikaru, you've definetly created a perfect counterpart to match with him!.

Great job so far! Can't wait to read more!
