Rumors. . . forest could be made into one sentence and you should use near instead of nearby

the next two sentences should also be joined

Kagome had cried...scene should be phrased differently

add that between lie and he

"kagome didn't response" ? that whole little section could turn into Kagome didn't respond, just fought back her tears.
