AMEN! I totally agree, if Akane truely wants to love Ranma then she has to TRUST him. I gotta give Ranma credit though, anyother guy would have either cheated and gone off to live with Shampoo or basically hit her by now.

First off: Ignore the people who keep flameing you for technical errors. As far as I am concerned, you're doing awesome. These people aren't appreciating the fact that you're writing a fanfiction, for heavens' sake!
It's your perogative to use the series in any way you wish.

I've never seen Ranma, so I cannot comment on your accuracy of the series.
But I'm loving this, and please keep writing, I'll read it even if it gets to be twenty chapters long. Promise.

One techincal error that isn't a flame, just a if-you-want-to-know, a boy has his Bar Mitzvah, a girl has her BaT Mitzvah. Don't feel like you need to change the story or anything. ^^

Btw- The dream part with the cat almost made me cry. When Mara had to shift the kitty to one hand, that was awesome. *sniff*

I'm sort of surprised that anyone would peg your OC as a Mary-sue. I for one am VERY paranoid of Mary-sues, but your Mara doesn't bother me at all. I also wasn't fazed by the lack of info on how the police and domestic abuse works in Japan. I mean, it was half a chapter, so what does it really matter?
(Though I must admit, I also am ignorant in such matters. Perhaps if I did know then I also would be fussing about how people should research their stories before writing. I know I do get ** at people who claim that the SD in "Gundam SD" stands for 'super defender,' when it really stands for 'super deformed,' which is the style it's drawn in. Many fans refer to the style as Chibi. I do get ** off when the ignorant try to tell me that *I* don't know what I'm talking about when it's clearly the other way around. But this is a side rant that's not really related to your story, so I'll stop now.)
Anyway, I actually really like this story. You claim not to have favorites, but I proudly claim Ranma as my fav. And being the Angst-lover that I am, I enjoy ficts that put him in vulnerable situations. And you're right, even though the violence in the show is meant as a gag--the same way Tom the cat always gets hurt by Jerry the mouse in the American cartoon--it's still interesting to look at the whole ordeal from a realistic view point.
The only problem I have with your story is that you're already to chapter six, and yet Mara STILL hasn't actually seen Akane do anything to Ranma. I mean, that IS the point of this story, is it not? So why hasn't it happened already? Hopefully you'll correct this soon with a new chapter, right?

I know you didn't update for more than a year...I think...but I hope you're not going to abandon this story! PLEASE UPDATE SOON!

What the author is tryin' to point out here is that even though there may be love between Ranma and Akane, Threshie, Akane doesn't have any trust in him, and abuses him because of it. Love doesn't last without trust, especially when you're also being assaulted, and Ranma WILL eventually go to someone else. Mara just happened to be in the right place at the right time, when Ranma was beginning to realize that Akane has no trust in him.
This fic is pretty well written. I hope the author decides to continue and eventually finish this fic, 'cuz I am particularily enjoying it so far.

Geeze, it seems like you are having trouble with flamers. That's no good, because this is a really good story! Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a nice angsty Ranma fic?! Or hard it is to find a nice angsty one dealing with semi-normal situations. (Meaning not post-apocolptic). I am really, really enjoying this story! I like the way you are charecterising Ranma, Nabiki, and Mara. I usually don't like Oc's but Mara is pretty cool. Anyway, I am looking forward to the next chapter!
