This story is amazing.

Holy cats! This chapter is intense. Wow ... just wow. This has got to be the best chapter ever written on this site.

It was powerful all the way through. The personalities of Race, Blink, Jack and Spot really showed through, and they were all in character. Best of all there was also an inside look into the boys' characterizations and personalities.


People only dream of writing a story this well. Good job for actually doing it. I can't wait to read more.

I realize you haven't updated this fic for more than 2 years now, but I've just gotten into this fandom and am completely IN LOVE with this fic

This story has been under my favorites list for a long time. However, I noticed today that you had updated like crazy, and though I was a year behind, I read through it all today.

And thank goodness I did.

This is one of the best Newsie fanfics I have ever read. Your characterizations - specifically those of Race, Blink, Spot, Mush and Jack - are spot on. I honestly want to kiss you for writing this brilliant story. PLEASE update it soon, otherwise I'm going to go nuts wishing I knew what had happened.

Everything, from the characters to the setting, has an incredibly real feel to it. It smacks of authenticity, from the vocubulary of the characters (Evidents? Speak English!) to the plot line. And honestly, this plot line is fantastically engaging. My hat is off to you for writing a story of this level of intricacy while relying, not on elements of romance, but on comedy and friendship and other themes more pertinent to the lives of lowly newsboys. Every chapter has made me smile at least once. There are moments of truth everywhere in this story.

Please, please update! This is the longest review I believe I have ever written. Standing Alone is fantastic.

I really wish you would update this! I think it's easy to get the gist of what will happen next, but I'd really like to hear it in your own words. omg i love this story! its truely amazing!! and ur such a great writere...u have so much detail and i can picture everything that is going on as if i was there. i started reading it a few days ago and decided that i would finish it before i reviewed.
omg thw whole story is great! i love the way u portray the characters u did a great job with all of them. jack, blink, race, mush, and spot were perfect...everything that they said or did seemed to fit their characters perfectly!
i liked the relationships between race and blink, and then blink and mush. with race and blink it was really sweet cause i like how they can joke around but are still serious and help each other out...like when blink had to kill spot!! and then mush and blink they really seem to look out for each other...thats so sweet!! and they stood by each other no matter what happened..but they could still joke around!! i love when there are relationships like these in stories...it really allows the reader to see a whole different side to the characters. like when race draged blink out of the lodge and they were all making fun of him...lol loved it!! poor vlink though he gets so much abuse!! hahaha
spot...lol i thought u did a great job with him! how he is all paranoid and thinks everyone is out to get him!! but i like how he could somewhat joke around. and with race...that was really cute. even tho he says they arent really good friends it seems like there is more to spot and race then we think! loved it! i also like how hes all tough...very cute!! great job with that...and the convo he had with jack in the last chapter...that was amazing!! really good!!
poor blink though...all the stuff he had to go through. people put to kill him, race and him goin at it, gettin kicked out, and then having to kill spot! lol u did a great job with all of it. i could so see something like this happening with blink! i lov e to read stories about him...hes def one of my favorite characters!

Gosh. Do you know how much time I wasted reading this story? I'm now officially behind on my homework (and everything else) thanks to you. The only reason I started was because I missed the lack of the "Complete" and thought someone who kept at it for three years had to be done.

You had me guessing for most of the story. The only thing I didn't believe was Spot's death. He couldn't possibly be dead after Box Greene came back to life. After all that talk in the beginning of Spot not being tied with Box's death and that little scene when Box ran in on Spot's little one-on-one with Blink, you can't expect me to believe Spot's dead!

Darn. Now you have me late for ice skating, too.

Omg! You have no idea how excited I got that you updated! I probably even peed my pants a little! O goodness...this fic is just absolutely amazing! You have to update soon, cuz I don't think i'll survive another long wait like before! I really love how you portray all the boys, especially spot. He's just so angry...lol he's hardcore...hardcore to the extreme! I can't wait for more so UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE! YAY!

aside from the lack of Blink (kidding)... that was brilliant! this story just gets better and better! I really, really enjoyed this chapter. Spot's character was right on. I loved the play between lies and honesty. Very, very good. Poor Jack, though, I could just imagine being caught up in such confusion. Our Jack - he's got a heart of gold and his brain's just taking a little longer to catch up ;) A long wait, yes, but certainly well worth it. Thank you!
