Wow... Just... Wow. Nice one-shot, hon. A very enjoyable story. As for those screaming how unlike canon Ranma this is, well, your title says it most credibly.

One DOES reap what one sows. Most definitely. I've witnessed that fact.

Thank you for a most enjoyable story.

Woah.

Every now and then I just choose a random page and look what stories are listed. That is how I found this one.

Some have suggested this story needs to be continued. I disagree. It needs a prequel.

It was very good.

Other comment:
I only saw one flaw. I do not see Ranma being so vicious as to have someone killed after 8 years. That takes a LOT of hate and that poisons the person. Vengence provides no catharsis. Achieving vengence at most provides a sense of justice fulfilled but usually a sense of utter emptiness. The Ranma you displayed at the beginning of the story does not appear to have spent 8 years building a hatred. Either she is the consumate actress hiding a coldness and distain for all around or she is not the grudge bearing, anger festering, killer portrayed.

For a sort of "Revenge Fic", I like it. Short, sweat and to the point. The title really DOES say it all.
I give it an, A rating.

This story is, to say the least, intriguing. Personally, I can actually see this happening in Ranma 1/2 after the end and that's what makes it so effective. I mean, we all know how fanatically people follow the traditional ways of the samurai and the Hagakure in Ranma's sick world, right? People simply attack and try to kill others for their "honor" or "love" which is nothing more then swollen arrogance and pride. It was also quite interesting seeing Soun acting more vicious and Kasumi having a master plan of revenge in store for Soun and the Saotomes to redeem Ranma, kind of like in Hamlet (in some ways). I always wondered what went on behind her smiling face and subservient attitude. It's also very effective in it's scare power. This is very frightening, not in the idea of revenge, but what brought it on. We've seen how Genma and Nodoka treat Ranma, wanting him to be a "man among men" unless he wishes to undergo seppuku. The idea that families-even the most traditional ones-would follow such a custom in this day and age without the slightest bit of thought is mind boggling and terrifying. And from how strange the Saotomes and Tendos act and how much they follow their old beliefs I always wondered if Genma and Soun either had any mental illness in themselves or their ancestors. They both show signs of obsessive-compulsive-disorder and emotional instability (particularly Soun). They are also very hypocritical and try to justify everything they do through their dojo and bloodline. Nodoka also shares some of these traits to. The worst thing of all (at least to me) is how none of them are afraid of death or anything for that matter (not counting Ranma's fear of cats). The only type of person who is truly not afraid of anything are specific types of sociopaths or people who have completely withdrawn from themselves and/or their emotions. If such a thing is tradition, perhaps Ranma, the families, and even the samurai of old were sociopaths to an extent.

I never thought I'd say this, and I'm ashamed to do so, but I am forced to agree that Genma, Soun, and Nodoka got what they deserved in this story. I'm the kind of person who always tries to help all, no matter how bad that person may seem, but I am forced to say that their execution was well deserved and inevitable. It's not that they are bad people. It's that they are incapable of listening to psychology or logic outside of their introverted ways, and if their families have been doing this forever, then what does that say about them and their art? Are they teaching an art that turns you not into a noble martial artist, but a withdraw semi-sociopath? Are they making others better by poisoning them and living off of that poison which they call "honor"? Such a thought is depressing and sickening. To justify such a thing... that is as close to pure evil as you can get in my opinion.

So yes, it was an excellent story. I feel sympathy for the three victims, but in fiction-both literary and cineamatic-there are some people who just cannot and will not listen to reasoning or talk (Richard in Kiss of the Dragon, Ralph Cifaretto in The Sopranos). There always has to be at least one person who pulls too many stunts and ends up paying for it. What a sad existence.

And again, nice work.

Yes seeing someone getting what's comming to them is nice. Long and drawn out would have been a bit much. You handled it well.

How do I put this...? You seem to relate so closely to certain anime characters suffering from abuse, that you turn into a sort of white crusader eager to wreck vengence in their names with the might of your--pen. If you weren't so black & white, if your characters weren't so hectoring, your good plot development skills would stand out more. As it is, I just wonder at the works of a talented writer who makes Zen look WAFFy.

I suspect you are going to hear a lot of critism for this .
My self I feel it is about time, nobody is that full of sweetness and light. To take the kind of abuse you showed and mentioned in the story.

I rather liked seeing some revenge and anger. I think both are quite appropriate.

Good story telling, I hope you are doing well.

The only way I would expand this would to try to cure Akane, and I would suspect they would have tried anything they could think of by now.

This was a nice enough fic up until the point where Soun, Genma, and Nodoka were killed. It's just way out of character for Kasumi and Ranma to hire Yakuza to kill them.

If, and this is a gigantic if, they did decide that the three needed to die, then Ranma would have done it herself.

My opinion is that they would have done everything in their power to ruin the three of them and get them imprisoned, while knowing who did it to them and why, and that those responsible for their plight were living good lives. That's a better revenge in this case then death.

I already reviewed this at MediaMiner. But I'll review this too. Anyway I agree with Wyrm, it's kinda OOC of Kasumi to just hire the Yakuza to kill off Soun, and the Saotomes...What happened to Ryoga after Akane found out about him being P-chan? *whistles* Nice touch with Ranma/Kikuko becoming friends with Kodachi... And them teaming up to throw Tatewaki and their dad into thearpy
... I defitinely agree with Ryk, Akane's current condition is all Soun's fault! He should have forced Akane to get help a long time ago, preferably after her mom died... U know that too much stress cannot be good for a person's health! Well at least Nabiki's alive, well she's in jail, but she had a reason to act the way she did! And I also blame her crimes on Soun! He had no excuse to just abandon his daughters like that! I know his wife died and all, but I'm certain that his wife wouldn't want Nabiki to end up in jail, and Akane into a wheelchair!
