Leia Wood aka Cascadia 8/2/04 . chapter 3You conveyed Frodo's thoughts extremely well, IMO, in such a beautifully sparse and eloquent way! Well done! :) And yes, Frodo's torment is sad. Leia |
Coolio02 8/20/03 . chapter 3This was awesome! Good job:) |
Tigerlily Baggins 1/31/03 . chapter 3First and above all- awesome, awesome job! OMG, I know exactly that feeling that Frodo fet about moving on. It's when you long for something for so long and then when you get a chance to behold it once more it is not as beautiful as you had imagined it anymore. It's a terrible feeing. And reading about it here kind of woke up something inside and I remembered it. Wow, I can't beleive someone else knew that feeling too! This was a truly enchanting last chapter. Bravo! NOTE to a certain reviewer named unknown;): Listen (if you've actually come back to read this), do you have a life? Or at least a hobby? Obviously not since you have nothing better to do than to take a whole friggin review to point out a common spelling error. Just in case you haven't noticed, no one's perfect. A spelling error or two is part of human nature. I don't think you would like it if you wrote a fic and some freak reivewed you to point out the flaws in it instead of complimenting you on the good parts about it. Sure, I believe in giving advice in reviews to help the author make the fic better, but you act like the girl doesn't even have a dictionary. If you don't have anything better to say, then don't even review to disappoint people. XOXO TL XOXO P.S.: Rachel, I know I didn't use Gollum, but he comes in when we have someone who's actually brave enough to flame with a penname or e-mail address! P.p.s: Awww, you're so sweet! You think I'm wonderful? Then imagine what I'd have to say about you! :) |
Tigerlily Baggins 1/31/03 . chapter 2Yes, you did it! AGAIN! Great job! You'll never hear the end of that from me! This perfectly captured that hopelessness, especially with the last short sentences. Wonderful touch. It just puts such emphasis on that bleak, desolate moment...and I love how you had it seem like Frodo hardly knew what was happening when the Ring was destroyed... "I cannot cast it aside. It taunts me. It is gone. Gollum is gone. I stand and bleed as the world crumbles." Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Cheers! On to chapter 3! XOXO TL XOXO |
Fallfara 1/26/03 . chapter 3Awesome, awesome, awesome! You captured Frodo's feelings very well, at least the way I imagined him to feel as I read the book. I loved reading this fic because it was like an indepth look at that particular part of RotK. Though it may have been hard for you to write (as you said), it came out beautifully. Keep writing these short fics. I love them! Love, Audrey |
Fallfara 1/26/03 . chapter 2I finally got around to reviewing this. This is wonderful! Sorry, didn't expect me, did you? Well, I'm doing my "homework." So expect a review for the next chapter and the rest of the review for your Faramir fic. I can't believe I forgot! Stupid me! Well, I just wanted to say how awesome this fic is. To the next chapter! Love, Audrey P.S. They had BETTER not cut it off this time! |
WickedAuthoress 1/26/03 . chapter 1Ah, Rachel! You make me jealous, you really do. You did a wonderful job, as usual. You took a in-depth look at exactly what our dear Frodo would be feeling at the moment, and did so beautifully. ::bows down:: And to the ridiculously stupid, Unknown... You little hypocrite. Where you get off complaining about the simple mispelling of the word, "too" I don't know. Take a good, long look at your own review, honey. Where is your capitalzation? Did anyone ever teach you not to write in sentence fragments? I guess not. Ignore that person, Rachel. Hypocrites hold no validity. Hugs, Jenn |
Ailsa89 1/25/03 . chapter 3OhGodOhGodOhGod That was just so beautiful! So very sad but beautiful, nonetheless. It was just so sweet and "soul-enslaving" Please write more of these. That would make a certain Frodo and Sam fantatic very happy. *Ahem* A.J x |
Ailsa89 1/25/03 . chapter 2Yay- they did it- they succeeded! Wow, so powerful. Loved it! |
Ailsa89 1/25/03 . chapter 1My word- that is dark! But so good. I loved this so much. Why didn't you tell me about it before? *grumble grumble* You can actually "see" Frodo getting closer and closer to despair. And then "There never was any hope." Amazing. A.J |
unknown 1/24/03 . chapter 1 you spelled too wrong. i always have to correct people on that kind of thing. two Os, not one or one and a W. bye. |
unknown 1/24/03 . chapter 2 not sad? mabye it might be sike what he thought, but not sad? |
Lila Grubb 1/24/03 . chapter 3Oh, that's so sad! I hope the "Return of the King" film shows Frodo's feelings at the end of, and after the quest as well as you have. |
shirebound 1/21/03 . chapter 3Very haunting and poignant, Rachel! I especially like, "I had not expected ever to return. I had not expected to even finish." That's the key to the whole ending of ROTK, I think. (If I may be so bold, I don't think your Summary does this story justice. When the author calls her story "dinky", what is the encouragement to open it and read it? Be proud of what you've written, and give the folks a Summary that draws them in. You deserve it. I consider Summaries to be very important, and I word them very carefully. If you'd ever like some input, let me know!) |
Fallfara 1/21/03 . chapter 1Oh, no! Poor Frodo! It makes me want to cry. :(... It was so *sniff* beautiful! *weeps silently for a few minutes and grabs a tissue* I hope it is like this in the next movie, it was perfect! I feel so sad for Frodo, I always do! Of course we all love him! Great work; can't wait to read the rest. Love, Audrey : ) |
