Beautiful! I've loved the movie for ages, and am now reading the novel. I love Colonel Brandon, and was so pleased to see the interaction between him and Marianne, as you don't get in the movie...

This? Was beautiful. I don't know if I've ever read a fic that more perfectly captures the bittersweet quality of Brandon and Marianne's romance (granted, I haven't read that many Marianne/Brandon fics given that there aren't many out there!). Your writing style is lovely, and I like the fact that you didn't try to make it like Austen's. Much better to use your own expressive voicing than a poor mimicry of one of the greatest British authors. I especially like how you've captured Sir John here - great job on his character! Part of me wishes there was a more obvious romantic love shown between Marianne and Brandon, but perhaps after all this companionable affection is what characterized at least the early portion of their marriage. I'd like to believe that their love only grew for one another through the years. Ah well, hopeless romantic.

(P.S. Any chance of more Austen fics? ;)

this was really nice. i normally don`t read fanfics of books, because people have a tendancy to change the story or characters. this one, though, didn`t do that. you pulled this off nicely. really nicely actually. it was interesting and beleivable and i hope you do more jane austen in the future, because this one was really good.

thank you,

That was so touching. There are not enough Sense and Sensibility fics out there and I'm glad I dsicovered yours. You justified Col. Brandon's feelings very accurately.
The writitng was not really in Jane Austen style, it was very modern but nonetheless it was still very good.

This was so beautifully written. It truely kept the similar tone, and personalities of the characters, and the movie, which I see some similarities too. Will you continue, or is it a one-shot. Do you write more Brandon fics?

Very good! I am a Jane Austen fanatic. Sense and Sensibility is my favorite movie, and I can picture Alan Rickman in the role very well. :) Anyway, back to your story, it's wonderful! I'm always happy to read "After the ending" stories. And Colonel Brandon is my favorite character.

Hmm, you do have a lot of the same interests I have! I liked this. I like the deconstruction of Brandon's feelings, the explanation to the reader of exactly why Brandon can love Marianne even knowing she would have chosen Willoughby first. And I'm glad to see Marianne portrayed as a woman who has learned from her past, has grown up and learned to care for a man who so clearly loves her. If she were to take a step back and look at her own life as you have portrayed it, I imagine even her flighty younger self would approve; it is sufficiently tragic to be noble and interesting, and yet still happy enough to be a good romance. :-) --Q

I love this fic. Not only because Colonel Brandon is my favorite in Sense and Sensibility. But, because you captured his quiet attitude. I love it. It's on my fave list!

This was excellent! The language and feeling and everything it was all around very good. I always wondered what Brandon thought after marrying Marianne and how she coupled the loss of Willobhy with her marriage to him.The insight in this story was incredible and the characters were so true to life.Definintely one of the best portrayls that I've read.

Oh, bugger all. Now I'm crying. Thank you very much. *glares*
Anyway, that was so good. The descriptions were breath-taking, like with the stars and the moon and stuff. And you had Brandon down to a T. The feelings were poignantly realistic. You're a very good writer.
