very interesting. I'd never thought of it that way before, but it makes total sense. It isn't really that disgusting though, since most people subconsciously chose their mates based on their parent of the opposite gender. Still, I have to give the Passions writers much more credit now. :)

I'm glad somebody finally said it! I'm not an author at FF.Net, but I have often noticed the similarities between Theresa and Ivy, most notably, their ability to justify any sin to obtain their "true love". The fact that the man may be happily involved with someone else, and would want to STAY involved with the other person, never enters their minds at all. Thanks for the great analysis!

Very insightful. I agree with a lot of what you wrote and I'm pretty sure Freud would too. The only reason I watch Passions is for Fox and Theresa and I hope that Fox does wind up with his metaphorical mother figure and hopefully Teresa will rise above being Ivy Jr. since there are some differences between them (ie Theresa's love for Ethan Jr. even though she believes that he's Julian's son.) I hope you post some more insights as the storyline progresses (even though storyline progression takes forever on Passions.)
