This fic was wonderful! Perfect characterization of Vader - dark and menacing, yet still Anakin, without being too 'santa claus-y'...IMHO.

That last line is such a great one. It's a touching story, I really like your work, it's so heart felt and well written. The way you used Shmi's gravestone as the connection point at the beginning and the end was really clever.
