M... this is a beautiful, sensual piece of writing. Syd and Sark are just great, and I'm glad that there wasn't any phone sex. I think it would have ruined the trance-like aura of the story and in the end not have been as believable. Great work!

you have an awesome gift for writing. It takes talent to be able to put that much imagery into writing without making it boring. I LOVE THIS STORY. Is it going to be multiple parts?

If JJ Abrams and Co. wrote Sydney and Sark with about half this much magnetism and poetry, I would be most tempted to convert my shipper loyalties. The characterizations were flawless, and the writing was.breathaking.your style and the general mood/flow of the piece reminded me (in a warped, weird way) of The English Patient. Oh, and the Greek mythology references were amazing too.
You've ruined my evening, you know. Here I was going to study History of Civ all nice and peaceful and now all I'm going to be able to do is think about this wonderful story :)

I, for whatever reason, didn't read this when you first posted it, but I'm glad I ended up reading it. So, to start off...

My.

God.

I can't describe this any other way. The whole idea of S/S is just hot beyond words anyway, but this was just amazing. The whole imagery of the desert and heat, along with the S/S UST...wow. With the addition of the lush pomegranate? Jesus. The ending? I was almost hoping for possible phone sex, but this completely sufficed, with Sydney being back in control and such. Just amazing.

I absolutely LOVE your Sark, as well. He's just so wonderfully, perfectly Sark.

Okay, I think I'm done...one last thing though.

Heeee. That rocked. Love the Sarkney tension in here, the playfulness in Sark's comments, the way Syd was less than in control. It all came together to form a fantastic piece of fiction! :) (And great job on integrating the challenge requirements; I especially like how you fused in the "keep breathing" line *g*.)

so, so beautiful. Wonderfully written and I love your word choice. It fits together wonderfully without being confusing. The descriptions are so vivid that I can actually picture them. Again, great work!

I'll be the first to admit that Sark/Syd isn't my usual ship. But this story worked for me, because you worked the tension without overdoing it. What really stuck in my head, though, was some of the imagery...the hot, sticky, sweaty jeep in the middle of the desert, the lushness of the robe, the pomegranate. They hung with me for awhile after I read it.
