That episode was All Hell breaks loose (the finale of season 3). Phoebe goes to the underworld to save Cole and while she's down there Prue and Piper are exposed as witches. The episode ends with Prue dying.

um, about his not being liked in the underworld . . . . darling author, he's the former source of evil, Phoebe was his queen. He's adored, and feared by all. He's also the most powerful demon in existance now. It's why the Avatar's wanted him. That's why he's so invincable.

The reason Cole went insane, well, ya get rejected so many times by a woman you gave up everything for . . . and then her sister attempts yet ANOTHER vanquishing ON YOUR BIRTHDAY, a birthday which no one had even acknowledged . . . . well, it tends to drive a man to drink, and over the edge. In Cole's final year, Phoebe was really just CRUEL to him. He just wanted to start over, use his new powers to help save people, they just repeatedly rejected him and tried to vanquish him. (can you tell I'm not a fan of the direction the writers took that season?)

The fight scene was great, thank god Phoebe didn't hurt Cole's pride! I'm glad that some kind of friendship developped between leo & cole! and the scene where he asks Phoebe's hand was just so cute!
I can only hope you already have another story in mind ;-)

I am enjoying this story but it seems again the only way Cole can be included in the Halliwell's lives is if he becomes "powerless", a condition that is not "natural" for him. He has to be less than he was destined to be.
