great story! it was nice to finally see an "arranged marriage" story that showed that even though the guy was great and would treat her gently and cherish her, an arranged marriage is an arranged marriage and maybe not wanted. this is the first story i've seen like this. Yes, it's sad, but it has another truth to it. The truth of wanting, as Eowyn said, to not be in a cage. Even if your companion in that cage with you was great.

oh how horribly sad! This is very good, though bitter. Not all stories should have a happy ending so this is refreshing.

great story. short. really short. yet full of meaning and emotions. well done! by the way, are you going to have a sequel to "in wonderland"? i hope you are. well...most people hope so, i guess.

Well, my name doesn't really fit the story does it? To tell the truth, I find it an immensely touching story, full of sadness... Perhaps she could become happy...well, that is what I'll imagine... or not. This is a truly great story even without the "and they lived happily ever after". You create in the reader a feeling of such compassion and sadness... it's amazing. My only regret: that the end could not be happier.

Oh, this is great! I love the melancholy feeling of this. Great how you don't make her have a angsty or abusive past or any such rot. It is magnificent, how there is really nothing to be sad about, how she understands this and it makes her despair even more. The best tragedy is to be found in the lack of it, I always thought. I must say this is my favourite LotR-fic this far.
