Adi Sagestar 2007-07-21 . chapter 1Wow... I like this view of him. Usually he's shown as a shy tom (or kit) who people think is a freak. |
debatable. 2007-02-03 . chapter 1Oh, this is effing beautiful...
This entire piece. Every single line. You don't see Mistoffelees talking like this... And it's almost impossible to keep his words mature and sophisticated without being overly so... But you seem to have succeeded!
I can't tell you to change anything. Not a word. It's perfect as it is and the only reason I'm writing this review is so I can add it to my favourites. Oh god. Beautiful. |
Kati 2007-01-19 . chapter 1 Huh. That was a very different perspective. |
 An Fhomhair 2005-08-11 . chapter 1THat's brilliant. Absolutely...oh, what's the word...splendiferous! ^_^ Lol. Luv it. |

Chess 2004-08-03 . chapter 1Wow, very excellent. I love the repetition in the middle. Interesting "opposite" take on Mistoffelees. Very emotional. |
narcomanic 2004-07-31 . chapter 1 i like this. as you said, it's from the different perspective and i think you really got it. kinda makes feel sad for misto (well i can always comfort him ^^). poor kitty. what he is not, he's almost an adult but what the heck. |
Krissy4 2004-06-25 . chapter 1Old Deut did that? Little control freak of a Jellicle leader. And Poor Misto; no wonder why he had to bring him back |
Kalliroscope 2003-10-31 . chapter 1All right everybody, if I've said this once I've said it a million times, but I guess it needs to be said again:
THE WHOLE POINT OF THE 'NOT WHAT WE APPEAR' CYCLE IS TO EXPLORE THE CATS FROM THE /OPPOSITE/ PERSPECTIVE.
Which means, in a nutshell, that I do /not/ necessarily believe that Jemima is evil or Mistoffelees was given his powers by Old Deuteronomy! I don't have any particular belief, honestly; my interpretations of this magical show change extremely often, and I prefer not to bind myself to any one theory. The only thing I do definitely believe about these characters... is that they are Jellicles, whatever 'Jellicle' may be defined as.
Other than that, I keep my mind open and write explorations of every possibile aspect of the cats as I can.
Again, the Not What We Appear cycle is an attempt on my part to go against the grain by writing one poem for each cat that explores the side of their personality which is most uncommon, most opposite to the usual 'fanon' (and also opposite to semi-canon, although it is my opinion that there is no such thing as canon when it comes to Cats), most controversial.
Which is, I still think, a very good concept. However, it does mean that people are always reviewing the poems with comments like 'No, this is wrong, so-and-so would never act like that! You have the personality all wrong!'
...exactly.

JABM 2003-10-31 . chapter 1 NO! Mistoffelees isn't a puppet, he's not bitter or hateful either, and he's not arrogant at all!! And his powers are his own!
That's all. Good poem I guess, but it touched a raw nerve so I can't be fair... |
n 2001-07-26 . chapter 1 Everyone, listen-MIST HAS HIS OWN POWERS! OLD D. DOESN'T MAKE HIS POWERS, HE DIDN'T RECIVE IT FROM MACAVITY! HE WAS BORN WITH IT! thank you. |
