So glad you have updated this at last - you have a real gift for taking smlal characters and getting inside them and turning them into the heroes of the piece. In this chapter the way you foreshadowed what we all know to come was very subtle yet unmissable, and the insight you have into te crawling tension that Finduilas must have felt is very keen.

This was a nice update! I have the impressions of knowing a lot more the character now!

I was so happy to see an update for this I nearly cried. Well, sort of, except not. But point being, it was wonderful to have something new for this story that we all enjoy so much!

Knowing that Finduilas is eventually going to die makes this really sad to read! Still, it was an enjoyable chapter! “I could take him out drinking and wenching. He’d sleep then, for sure. No, wait-no wastrel anymore!” Heh. I love Imrahil!

Loved little Faramir and his growing rapport with Imrahil, and the bit with Andrahar handling Boromir was very good; he knew just how to get the kid to practice.

I agree that Finduilas might have been especially sensitive to the malevolence of Sauron. Also, Sauron might have gleaned from his Palantir-wrestling bouts with Denethor that Denethor's love for Finduilas was both Denethor's strength and weakness, and set about trying to destroy Finduilas.

What a shame that peace with the Haradrim is just not going to last.
